Well it appears at first glance that your husband is right for saying you should not have done it.

Does he believe in Jebus????

If he believes as well then you are both wrong for believing in fairy stories

Actually there used to be an Anglican priest who was a regular here. He was critical of the Catholics excluding non-Catholics from communion on several occasions. He said it was one of the few points that he totally disagreed with them on.

So I'm sure it was OK.

Anybody who has been baptized as a christian can take communion in an Anglican church. If you have been confirmed in the religion of your choice, however, it is seen as socially unacceptable. So both of you could be right depending on your situation.

Did your husband say why? Are you a current member of the church? Are you an unbeliever? Does he think that you're a hypocrite? Perhaps he doesn't understand communion?

The communion table, as I understand it, is for those who are part of the family of God. Now each church will have their own interpretation of who should and should not partake.

Perhaps you should sit down with the priest and ask him.

I highly recommend to you and your husband the Alpha course if one is available there.

It is my understanding that the Anglican Church offers the reception of Holy Communion to those who are full members of that Church ( i.e. baptized and confirmed) as well as to full members of other Christian Churches. You mention that you have been Baptised, but you don't say if you are a full member of the Church. If you are in doubt, have a quick word with the priest.
Roman Catholics, although welcome to partake in the Eucharist by the Anglican Church, reluctantly have to decline as the Roman Catholic Church has ruled that the two Churches, although making great progress are not at the stage where they can inter-communicate. There are theological reasons for this and neither Church is being petty, just realistic that things are heading in the right direction. The Roman Catholic Church recognizes the validity of the Sacraments of the Orthodox Church and Roman Catholics are allowed to receive the Eucharist in the Orthodox Church as the Orthodox can in the Roman Catholic Church.
May Christ's prayer to His Father soon come to fruition, "Father, may they be one, as we are one".

No Catholic would or should.

Ask the Anglican priest what you should have done.

As a baptized Anglican, you would be almost always welcomed as a communicant - strictly speaking, there is a requirement to have been confirmed, but almost all priests seem to regard this as a matter for individual conscience, so that if you feel you are ready to receive communion, you can.

The Anglican churches also normally welcome other communicants who are baptized Christians 'in good standing with' - in other words not excommunicated by - their own church. This includes Roman Catholics, and many individual Catholics do receive communion when attending an Anglican church with their partner or friends - although the Vatican says they should not.
