Default Should the US Episcopal Church quit the worldwide Anglican Communion?

Worldwide, the Anglican Communion is dominated by the very large number of Anglicans in Africa. These are outraged now at the American church, the Episcopalians, who accept out-of-the-closet gays, and even elected a gay to be a bishop. Further, the American church has elected a woman to lead it, a position which everywhere else is held only by a male.

The US Episcopal Church considers it is moving forward by making these changes, accepting women and gays. But the worldwide Anglicans say they will never accept these things. If the American church does not back down, the worldwide communion may very well kick them out.

Should the US Episcopal Church now conform to the ways of the worldwide church? Or should they continue to be accepting of gays and just leave the worldwide Anglican Communion?

they should stick to their guns and do what's right. If that means they are ostracized, so be it.

If the other churches were stoning people to death, we would be properly outraged if a US church were expected to follow suit. Same principle.

They don't have to do anything, they are being booted OUT! And the fact is that it isn't a matter of accepting women and gays they ARE accepted regardless. The question is should active gays be clergy, and should we sanctify same sex marriages.

Shouldn't each family decide what is right for them? The question then might be, "Do I want my kids growing up in that atmosphere".

As an Episcopalian, I want the US Episcopal church to stand firm in what the majority of the diocese support, which is that woman can be the PB and that openly gay men and women can enter the priesthood. If the other primates don't am mend the ultimatum, then the only answer for the Episcopal church is to get thrown out. Quitting is not an option.
