Default Question for ANGLICANS/EPISCOPALIANS... Holy Communion: who can take it? Who can't? A

At what age should kids start taking communion?

Should they wait for Confirmation? Or can they just take it anytime?

And does a person need to be Baptized to take Communion?

You should only take holy communion after you turn 150 years of age.

How is it that this isn't all clarified in the Bible??? Surely if this is important in any religious or spiritual sense, God would want us to know? You don't suppose all this stuff is just made up by men to fulfill their need to control and rule, do you??? No!!! How could that be?????????????

I am a Catholic who is married to an Anglican. I go to Church with her, she goes to Mass with me.
While there may be guidelines, and they may act in the best interest of the believer, they are similar to the Catholic Church.
People are encouraged to be baptized, be confirmed, and to properly take communion.
In reality, the communion is not refused to anyone willing to take it in good faith.
I take it and have never been confirmed an Anglican. I know the priests. They know me and my status. I am welcome to take it as is anyone else.

Canonically, all baptized Christians may participate in communion in the Episcopal church. However, the Church expects parents to make an informed decision concerning whether and at what age their children should participate. (This is a change from when I was a boy, when you could not participate in communion until you were confirmed, usually around 9 or 10 years old.) Many Episcopal priests welcome all persons to participate in communion who feel drawn to the altar by faith or personal need, without worrying about baptism.
