Default Q for Anglican communion and Roman Catholics?

I have been reading a lot recently about a possible future unity between both churches.

I'm a little confused with regards to what this would entail. For example married or female priests in the Anglican church. Also the Anglican allow any baptized Christians to receive holy communion during Eucharist while RC churches only allow catholics.

Can anyone help me with this or even with would it mean Anglicans/Episcopal/Anglo Catholics would become Roman Catholic? I would assume that as there are 1.5 Billion RC and 70 million Anglican...

Personally speaking i would like to see this as an Anglican/Episcopalian because as much as I love my church communion I have some issues with some recent decisions that the RC church has stood there ground with....

The Pope has extended and invitation to Anglicans and Anglican clergy to enter into the Roman Catholic Church. If the married Anglican clergy enter the Roman Catholic Church, they may remain married but new clergy members originating from the tradition would not later be entitled to marriage as they would be Roman Catholic at the time of such marriage.

The RCC does actually allow certain other Christians to receive communion. There is a list. This is likely to soon be expanded to Anglicans per order of the Pope.

As far as the Episcopalian church goes, I have heard no details of a relationship with the RCC coming.

I assume the thumbs down is simply about the RCC, as my information is entirely correct.

The would all convert to Catholicism and follow Catholic Doctrine.

The Female Priests and Homosexual bishop is the reason for the split. 35Million Anglicans are expected to convert.

The same thing may happen with the Lutherans as well.

Peace be with you

Well Anglicans and Roman Catholics have a fair bit in common.
From the outside,we often look alike.

I think i heard that Anglicans joining the Roman Catholics would basically be allowed to keep their own theology when they come so presumably female priests would be accepted as long as they used to be Anglican?? I find that odd.

As much as I am always happy to witness greater unity in Christianity, I find this whole opening of the Roman Catholic church to Anglicans to be a little odd. It kind of reminds me of when Boy Scouts went co-ed to boost their membership numbers... so I find myself slightly cynical about it.

Well, it's the conservative traditional Anglicans that are seeking union with Rome. So this would not be female priests since they are not part of the group.

The Anglican rite would keep their liturgy, yet be under the See of Rome. Married priests would remain married, but they would need to be ordained again according to the Roman rite, in order to consecrate the host and hear confessions.

I don't know about men coming into the priesthood. I think they may be allowed to marry since there are other Catholic rites that allow priests to marry, I would assume the same would be true for the newly formed Anglican rite.
