It's okay, there is no race thing in Asatru. Even people in Africa can join Asatru.

The ancient Germanic peoples lived there too. They even found a big runic inscription there, perhaps in Romania. While they were there, they had sex. The blood of the ancient Goths and other Norse and/or Germanic tribes runs in your veins too. Even if it didn't, you could be a Norse Pagan anyway. Start working with the Gods and Goddesses. It will work or it won't in the long run. http://home.earthlink.net/~jordsvin

As long as that path calls you, it is okay to answer.

Being white satisfies most of the hard lining foolish Asatruar.

The Vikings went a whole bunch of places, and where we went we liked to get "release". Not to mention the writings and anthropogenic writings tend to lend towards racial (Noun for "equal and diverse") anyways.

Bottom line is that if you feel that the Path of Asatru is for you, then most Asatruar are not going to stand in your way, and many of us would help you.

Frith Brother, and welcome to Heathenry.

If it okay for someone with NO Greek heritage to be a Hellenic Pagan (I know some who are Irish and Scottish) then I would say that the Asatrur should have no major problems with someone with Balkan Heritage.

It is the Gods who call US rather than the other way around. As I am not in their number, I would not presume to judge who THEY call.....

Definitely! The gods call whom THEY want and rarely ask for a pedigree. I know of a Heathen in Slovakia, actually and she says there are a lot of Folkish Heathens there, unfortunately.

Extreme Folkish use it as an excuse to be racist. Most rational Folkish types don't.

Welcome to the fold!

Where exactly are you from, anyway?
I'm from a Balkan Slavic country, too, but I have Teutonic ancestors on both sides, Lombard on one and Germanic on the other.

As Jordsvin and Tyr said, Vikings went across almost the entire Europe, and the Teutonic belief wasn't only in the domain of the vikings, but the majority of ancient Germanic tribes, from northern Italy to Iceland, from Spain to Russia. The paths differed a bit, but the basic worldview and the gods were the same.

Entirely. If you check out the migratory patterns of the Germanic Peoples, and the location of their tribes, you'll quickly discover that the Germanic Peoples have migrated through, and occupied the Balkans area many times in history. Some of the earliest Runic inscriptions have been found in places like Hungary and Rumania, so you're looking at regions which are very close to the Balkans themselves.

The primary tribe to move through that way, from information that we've got were the Visigoths. So certainly, there's nothing to preclude it on a historical level.

As for any other reason, well, no, nothing I can think of, we're polytheists, so are fairly much happy to allow people to follow what gods/goddesses they will. You might find some groups to be a bit more tribal in their outlook, but for the most part, I very much doubt there's be too many of us whom would take issue with it.
