Default how do you offer food to the gods in asatru or and form of paganism for that matter?

Do you burn it or do you eat it yourself

(For general Wicca) Usually when you do the Simple Feast you eat and drink some of the food and drink, as well as offering some to the God and Goddess. After the ritual, place the food and drink offered to them outside on the ground or in a compost heap or in a way that will allow the food and drink to be returned to the earth.

I pour out a libation of juice or wine on the ground and place some food beside it.

No, food and liquid is usually offered on a plate (or saucer) and bowl (if inside) or directly on the ground if outside. The animals that may come along and munch are part of the wights and life we're honoring. If nothing comes along, the food and drink return to the earth, also an honoring.

Most pagans and heathens usually have a special rock (or cluster of rocks) or tree where they make their offerings outside. We have a large, flat piece of white quartz that I've hauled around everywhere we move.

Most of the time I leave it on the ground or throw it into the water of the creek out back. Occasionally when I can get a fire going I'll burn it. With drink I pour a libation on the ground and also take a sip myself. Likewise with the food. My personal practice is a bit more shamanistic in nature so I have the whole the Gods enjoy it through me deal going on. Some Asatru purists might cry foul but it works for me.

Normally things offered to the gods are burnt, but the eating of it, is from the Vedantic, Brahman or Higher Self worship. Normally in sacrifice to "middle eastern"deities things offered are burnt with the appropriate words for I offer.

Depends on the religion, and the individual practitioner, and even the individual deity or spirit. I work primarily with totem animals, and some of them like it when I invoke them and allow them to experience what I experience as I eat the offering. When I do leave out offerings I do so indoors where animals can't get to them--feeding wildlife just encourages them to lose their fear of humans (and increase their chances of getting hurt or killed) and much of what we eat isn't fit for their consumption anyway. Instead, I'll suggest donating food to an animal shelter.
