Default Fenrir brought a Tyr to my eye, will the Asatru tell me of the heroic old one?

Tell me the story of Tyr's beginning.

By heroic....I assume you mean Tyr.

And what is it you want to know exactly?

EDIT: Read the Prose and Poetic Edda's, they have the information on Tyr you are looking for.

EDIT2: http://www.sacred-texts.com/neu/pre/pre04.htm

After that, go to forgery.orgRend do a search, you'll come up with all you need.

Historically, Tyr was the sky God before Odin.
I'm not certain what event changed his status as sky God, but we do know that Ragnarokr changes Odin's status as sky God and puts Baldr in Odin's place.
I often wonder as to what it was that put Odin in Tyr's place, and what position Odin held before.

I have to go with Thrud. LOL And I say this because it's part of Asatru. Fun huh? I'm sifting through the Edda's to make a list of the gods 12 high seats. I REALLY want to just ask, but I need to do it myself. It's part of the journey.
The Edda's are interesting. I know you aren't Asatru, but it's the best way to learn it. I will say he is the god of war and justice. He was called upon often for the Thing.

Half the fun of Asatru is looking it up. At least...keep telling yourself that.
