Not at all. I prefer to call them bush people, but you may call them what you like.

I am an English Heathen and I sometimes call myself Asatru.

Asatru is actually (part of) an Icelandic word for Icelandic Heathenry, but here in America, maybe in Europe too, it has come to mean Heathenry in general.
In my opinion I doubt anyone would be offended, but I can only speak for myself.

Would you mind telling me what exactly Norse-Gaelic Heathenry is? You can e-mail me if you wish.

Thank you for the E-mail!

Not offended, but you wouldn't be technically correct.
Asatru is just one of the branches of Heathenry, namely the reconstruction of Norse Heathenry which started simultaneously in Iceland and America in the 70's, centered around 2 key figures: Sveinbjorn Beinteinsson in Iceland and Stephen McNallen in America.
They created a structured, organized, hierarchical belief with firm rules, based on the worship of Norse gods, veneration of ancestors and very society-oriented (i.e., believers forming into kind reds).
They have a very ritualized form of worship and avoid the use of magic.

This and only this religion can rightly be called Asatru.

All the other versions that are similar to it, aren't exactly Asatru but different versions of Norse Heathenry, Anglo-Saxon Heathenry, eclectic Norse Heathenry etc.
