Default Asatru: About Thor and keeping the electricity turned on?

Thor rode through earlier this afternoon. Spectacular as usual.

But here's the thing. He managed to take out my electricity, again, for the second time in a week.

Now I'm thinking those early Norse were pretty smart people, and they must have developed a charm or a chant or a ritual of some sort to keep their electricity going whenever Thor visited.

And if not them, perhaps someone more recent.

Any advice will be appreciated.

You have to get your power lines underground. Thor's helmet will take anything out above.

Sorry you would have to move to a place he doesn't visit as often.

When I came to California I started to miss old Thor. He's really cool.

Blessed Be!

Maybe try hanging Thor's amulet (the hammer) over your breaker/fuse box.

As a Thorrsgodhi, I have a lot of Hammers hanging in my house... with only the very rare exception, the only time my power goes out is when some dumb ass hits a power pole with a vehicle.

Well, first, the obvious: the early Norse used candles and oil lamps when their electricity went out . . . wait . . . is 783 CE before Edison's time? *G*

There ARE things you can do. Although I'm not generally one to look for "woo woo" solutions to things (our gods like it when we just fix stuff ourselves) there are customary practices, like walking your property line with fire, marking its corners with hammer-inscribed (upside down T) border stones, hanging an iron Thorshammer (Ragweed Forge sells one) over your door, burying a snake in a glass or copper vessel under your front step, and setting out bowls of sparkly stuff (coins will do) to appease the hearth wights . . . essentially, things to place yourself within the proper balance with your surroundings and build Luck for your stead. Not miraculous, certainly, but over time, I can tell you that they DO help.

In the meantime, check your ground pole and complain to your electricity provider. ;-)
