Default question for pagans/heathens/asatru etc etc?

if my magical work involved gods/goddesses
do i necessarily have to worship them or can i just make offerings and follow my "Abraham" religion ?
i do have a irritating skin condition that can't be cured by doctors, not fatal BTW, just irritating..
cheers

I've never known pagans of any tradition to actively and extensively "worship" a deity just for doing some ritualistic work utilizing the deity, unless maybe the practitioner has grown to have a preference and "relationship" of sorts with the said deity. So if you feel like the offerings suffice for the service, I don't see a problem.

Wouldn't making offerings be a form of worship? At least a sign of respect. It's up to you how you wish to handle that. But I suggest trying different lotions before trying different gods.

There are a fair number of people who practice ritual magi ck and still refer to themselves as Christian or Catholic.
My experience with plural Gods is that they are just that...they are plural, and don't care who else you talk to or ask for stuff.
Even the First Commandment, which is usually translated as "...you shalt have no other Gods BEFORE me" doesn't forbid interaction with other Divine beings, so long as Jehovah is the most important one to you.

As far as your skin condition...try honey on it overnight, covered with a gauze or bandage. Do this for a week or two, and see if it improves.
Diancecht, Airmid, Apollo, and Aesclepius may all take an interest in helping you with it.

The Norse/Germanic gods work under a gift for a gift. Just be ready for whatever they might gift back. It might not be what you asked for.

But more importantly, why would you want their help? Or honestly expect to get it? Either you one: don't believe they exist in which its pointless or two:believe they exist but deny them honor.

*shrug

You could if you wanted to, but I don't see the point in [for example] doing an offering to Odin for a skin condition.

Why is your own deity not answering your prayers sufficiently enough?

Well, the idea of offerings to the Gods is not a bad one, it may be unnecessary for this application. What you need, if you have tried all of the medical applications (herbs, medication, holistic cures and such), then what you need is not going to be found from the Gods, but through directed energy.

You may want to find some Pagan or Wiccan friends and ask them to do a healing circle for you. As payment for that service, you could offer to give them the food and drink for ritual, if they do not offer to do it without any compensation at all.

We may not charge to teach, but providing a service (outside of teaching) normally comes with a cost of some kind (money, barter, compensation of some sort).

Now if they happen to be friends of yours, they will probably just put out the call and do it without anything but your thanks.
It depends on the folks and your relationship with them.

Good luck with the rash.
