Asatru believers and others, what can you tell me about the goddess Eir?

Eir is a companion of the goddess Frigg.
I have also heard She is a sort of patron goddess of Epileptics. Is this correct and what can you add?

and as for the methods in which i was told i was off course, how interesting to see others attitudes. in which case i am glad i do not follow that path if that is how i am addressed by supposed peaceful folk!

There is not much about Eir in the Lore. But you are right in that she is a goddess of mercy as well as a handmaiden of Frigga. Healing, therefore, is her realm - but she is not against death! Sometimes death is a better method of mercy than life, and Eir doesn't have anything against death. This is coming from someone that has recently requested, and received, her aide. Today, we make the mistake of seeing death as an adversary - the opposite of healing. Eir does NOT make that distinction. Also, I never got the feeling that Eir was not able to care for herself. As one who can wield magic and heal (and raise the dead according to some), I'm sure few would threaten her.

Sorry had to add LOL at the "stones, herbs and whatever" that gets thrown in the with the lore. We do NOT do or think such things because our Ancestors didn't. That is what being a recon. We do it the way it was DONE,not the way we think it should be.
