will you help promote this web site mean to help Heathens conceit? http://www.heathenplaces.com
if you create an account feel free to add me profile name lone warrior
please please please!!!!!!!!!!!
well for starters it's meant for Heathens I also think their is a huge thing about keeping the Frith and I know the monitor of the site is named swain he's actually on yahoo answers so maybe i can find him and get him to comment on it.
How is this place different than Witchvox.net or Paganspace.net? Most of these community boards become little more than places for people to argue about who's more pagan and who's not. Or to denounce this group because they do things differently than that group. You might want to do a better job at describing this website, how it's monitored, who runs it, and how strife and conflict is handled.
Just a suggestion. But good luck with your promotion.
For Victoria, heathens are not pagans. Nor are we "witches." We're a different breed entirely. I'll take a look at the site and see what it's like, but I don't know if Asatruar are numerous enough to have a networking site.
I remember Swain starting this, its sort of an off-shoot from a Heathen group he hosts (an which I am a member of) on another social network. To be honest I am a member (and host) of enough Heathen groups already and don't have the time to be in yet another, nor do I feel I would gain any benefit by joining another group made up of pretty much the same people.
So to answer your question; no I will not be joining this group in the foreseeable future as I am already in contact with the Heathens I want to be in contact with via other groups, personal email, telephone and physical meets.
Edit: Swain, it must be an age thing, I prefer the Yahoo!Groups to most "social networking" sites too. ASHMail has been particularly interesting just recently
Thanks William for promoting it. Heathen Places is a social networking site for Germanic Heathens (Asatruar, Theodsmen, Irminist, Odinists and so forth) to gather. It boasts chats, instant messaging, music players, and groups as a way for folks to connect. I started the site because many feel easier about connecting via a social networking site than they do through mailing lists or other means (personally, I prefer Yahoo Groups to the networking sites but its heyday is long past it seems). Anyway, it is there if folks wish to use it, and for those that do not, I would suggest one of the many Yahoo Groups on Heathenry.
