Default How to learn more about Asatru?

I am very interested in the ways of the Ancient Pagans especially the Ancient and Medieval Norse and Vikings.

This is all driven by my Scandinavian ancestry and sort of foreign Swedish nationalism.

However, I have always been interested in all things Ancient especially the Gods of old.

But I do not know the actual formal rituals and rights of modern Asatru. I know of the rituals of Wicca and other more known Neo-Pagan religions like the wheel of the year.

What are some books or some websites that can give me a good start?

Also, this is a question for people that follow Asatru or have knowledge of it:

Is there a reverence for nature in Asatru? I love nature.

Thank you!

http://www.erichshall.com/asanew/newtotru.htm
http://home.earthlink.net/~jordsvin/

http://www.asatrulore.org/index.php?page=Portal [A good forum to ask in depth questions, there's a lot of knowledgeable Asatruars who post there]
http://www.asatru.org/Holidays.html[List of holidays]
http://www.ravenkindred.com/ [This site has some info on rituals, as well as other stuff.]

Some books:

The Poetic and Prose Eddas, The Sagas of the Icelanders, Gods and Myths of Northern Europe by H.R. Ellis Davidson, Viking Age Iceland by Jesse L. Byock, Rudiments of Runelore by Stephen Pollington Gods and Worshippers: In the Viking and Germanic World by Thor Ewing, etc..

And yes, there is a reverence of nature. After all, you have the Landvaettir.

To add to what Bones posted

http://heathengods.com/temple/modules/library/

This virtual library has MANY Heathen/Asatru books (all free), I think you'll find it a very useful website.

http://www.modernheathen.com and http://www.ravenkindred.com are excellent starts.

Yes, there is a fairly significant ecological belief within most AstraUAR
For ritualistic practice, see "A Year of Viking Ritual" by Scott Mohnkern (available on Amazon.com)
