Because The Goverments of Iceland, Norway, Sweeden and Denmark do.

Religious choice has nothing to do with the British Government. Here in UK the people enjoy freedom of religion.

To achieve official religious status in the UK, the religion needs to have a certain number of adherents and organization.

However religious freedom stipulated in British bills does not prevent Asatru adherents achieving the same status of equality of officially recognized religions.

You're not likely to find a lot of Asatruar in Britain; many heathens in the United Kingdoms call themselves Odinists. In the late 1980s, the Odinic Rite was given Registered Charity status in the UK. The Rite was the first traditional polytheist religious organization to be recognized in this way.

The Odinist Fellowship was formed around the same time and also gained recognition as a Registered Charity. The Odinist Fellowship was able to get Odinism formally recognized as a religion during Royal Mail PLC vs. Holden, a case arising from the suspension and then firing of Donald Holden, an Odinist Royal Mail employee, for using a "Multicultural Room" that was in practice if not in name a Muslim prayer room provided by the Royal Mail. Holden won his case, and one of the results of the ruling was that as of 2006 Odinism is officially recognized in the United Kingdoms as a religion protected by anti-discrimination laws.
