Hey, I served under General Lunacy and I resent that comment. He's one of the best we've got.

It would be "why DO atheism, communism...Sometimes I wish people would think before they type. Sh*t, it gives you a chance to check and modify before posting. Oh, and to answer your question, well atheism doesn't = abortion. Atheism does not = communism. Atheism does not= lunacy. Okay, that was simple. Now go study for the spelling bee, idiot!

Good question, considering I'm pro-life/anti-choice and a capitalist.

Soviet Union would be a good example, I suppose.

so would 46,000,000 dead babies since the 1976 legal abortion law was passed.

Wanna bet who's more likely to have mental problems, percentage wise? It seems every time someone goes mad and slaughters his or her family/kids, there's a bible-loving churchgoer behind it.

Communism is an ideology that asserts the state deserves the same level of devotion as a religion. Although it is atheistic, it hardly "fits well" with atheism. There are also Christian socialists who are essentially communists.

Abortion is a human rights issue that makes sense once you realize that we have never issued certificates of birth (human life) until after the child is born from the mother. Denying women the right to choose is tantamount to slavery. There are many Christians who also support a woman's right to choose, including the majority of people who live in the United States.

General lunacy is ill defined and so deserves no comment.

General lunacy has a general public use license. Or can we charge you for the copyright violation?

It's true that communist societies often reject religion. The point that's often made is that religion has so often throughout history been used as a tool to control the masses, and keep people in their "station" in life. The working people have often been told to be happy with the meager things they are given in this world, so that they will be rewarded in the "next life." Obviously, that doesn't jive with communist philosophies.

I wouldn't say abortion and atheism always go together. I'm not a Christian, but I'm also not an atheist, and I am pro-choice. But clearly, if you're a traditional Christian, abortion probably does not fit well with your beliefs.

General lunacy? Now that I don't see. I've met and spoke with many atheists, and I think it's clear that they tend to be very intelligent, level headed, healthy people. Communism has certainly had it's problems, but I don't think it's the only type of society that's prone to some sort of "lunacy." I think this country has made many decisions and taken many actions in the past few years that I would deem as illogical at best, perhaps even bordering on "insane."
