Common sense and logic is making a comeback. People aren't afraid to ask more questions nowadays and when you ask questions you learn and when you learn ....
Because they confuse the biblical god for the real God and become morbidly disillusioned by the lie that took them in.
The real "God" being the origin of the cosmos, of everything and everyone, who is non-judgmental and simply "is", without need of faith or adoration or fear.
Because you are going by number as oppose to percentage. It only makes sense that the one with bigger numbers in the first place is going to be the loser there.
I don't believe your statement is factual, at least the first part. The second part seems to be true, but as an atheist gets older, a lot of them come back to Christianity. Don't know why but it seems true as far as atheist I have known.
People convert to Atheism as a result of education because of the predominance of Atheists as teachers and the fact that Christian teachers are prohibited from discussing their faith. Because of this, students are taught that God doesn't exist and that religion doesn't matter.
Honestly, I think the whole dominion theology crap is backfiring on them. A lot of people were willing to be marginal Christians until the nutters got hold of the White House and started the new crusades.
The other factor is the Internet and forums like this, where people who have never even considered their religion might be BS are getting exposed to different perspectives.
Because war broke out in heaven and Satan and his angels were cast out, down to the vicinity of the earth, woe to the earth for the devil has come down to you having great anger, knowing his time is short. Satan is hard at work walking around as a roaring lion waiting to devour someone. Satan is doing his best to make you fall, even the holy ones if he can.
There is no statistical data to prove your question.
Atheism is by no means a result of education.
If you look at history, the great minds and inventors of the past , you will see they were Christians or had spirituality.
I dare you to do the homework.
Huh? There is no such thing as converting to Atheism...There is a change in thought process that leads individuals to ultimately question their faith/belief in a deity that hasn't been pr oven to exist. If you look at how much bloodshed has been shed in the name of the various religious sects (incl Christianity) it's really pretty easy to see why people are dropping their religions and seeking alternatives. Advise you to check out the uncommon denomination at WWW.UUA.ORG! PEACE!
First of all - I would really like to see the statistics that scientifically prove that more people are converting to atheism than Christianity.
And secondly - if you truly are an educated person making completely informed choices then you must know all about each of your options including atheism and Christianity. So many people should be getting a religious education as well as a scientific and worldly one. If people choose Christianity or atheism out of ignorance then they are making poor choices. However if I didn't know about each of my options I'd still choose Christianity because if I'm wrong then I'll lead a great life helping others with no rewards or consequences overall but if I'm right then I'm going to Heaven.
There really isn't a good reason to choose atheism whether you are informed or ignorant because you cheat yourself out of possible rewards and the real chance to fellowship with other great people that work together to make the world a better place.
I don't see the "most" you speak of as far as converting to atheism...however, I do see a world turn to spirituality rather than organized dogma & strict doctrines.
I have also noticed that in the realms of those that call themselves atheists, "many" are actually agnostic...either way, though, it's still personal choices and not really of "business" for anyone other than the individual.
In this age, ideas spread, and more are being exposed to the truth. Once you see the truth it is hard to turn back. More people are waking up than going to sleep. So there are more atheists.
