Any belief system, be it atheism or some form of deism, is ultimately only as good as what it brings to you the believer. If it doesn't fulfill a need there's no point to it. So only you can decide which is better for you.
For those that have no need for an emotional crutch or the need to define life into something more bearable, perhaps.
I've met far more Atheists and non religious people who are spiritual than I ever did as a christian, that's for sure...
I tall depends on the person. Some people like logical explanations and evidence...some people like...well, I don't know what they like, feeling like someones looking out for you, that you have a greater propose, I guess. It depends on you.
Atheism simply means that you do not believe in a theology, that is, in a belief system such as Islam, eyc. One can be an atheist and yet not deny the existence of Gods.
And the good thing is that you need not defend silly, insane, beliefs such as Noah's ark or people rising from the dead.
People created god(s)
Rulers make religions and imply them to the masses!
By religion, the rulers make sure the masses do not think against them, they do not think anything, thus they obey and follow rules and directions!
By Atheism, people need to search for answers while by Theism, the answer is easy (although wrong!): god did it or god wants it, etc.!
