Default Is atheism the worst sin of all?

I am an Atheist, by the way. Just want to see what Christians (and Muslims) think of this.
I don't feel like I "don't have to account for my sins." I feel that I am a more moral person because I do what is good because it is good, not out of fear for some invisible father figure who threatens to throw me in a lake of fire.

The worst sin is denying God... so it might be... probably is, never thought about it that way.

If you have denounced the Holy Spirit, that is the unforgivable sin, so you do the arithmetic.

I am an atheist (used to be Christian) and yes, Atheism is the worst sin of all because Christians credit God with everything.

It doesn't seem as heinous, in my personal opinion, as lying in order to invade another nation.

No. Atheism is a denial of God, but we are born in denial of the goodness of God due to the fallen state of man. Besides, God does not really care what your sins are so long as you accept His grace through His Son Jesus. Then all is forgiven. May He bless and keep you.

Yes! Because it is the sin of unbelief that cannot be forgiven.
The only sin that will send you to hell!
Unbelief is the only sin that will send you to Hell.
The only sin that will send you to hell is the failure to know, understand and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the only true and living Lord God and that the blood Jesus Christ shed for you at Calvary is the only way you can have all your sins forgiven, removed and cleansed.
The Holy Bible in Hebrews 11:6 says ?But without faith it is impossible to please him (God); for he that comet to God must believe (have faith) that he (God) is, and that he (God) is a re warder of them that diligently seek him (God).? Parentheses mine!
If you want to be saved from all your sins and go to heaven when you die, you must, by faith, believe that Jesus Christ is the only true and living Lord God. (Romans 10:9-10 ?That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus {that Jesus is Lord} and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believed unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.?) You must, by faith, ask Jesus Christ to do forgive, remove and cleanse you from all your sins. (Romans 3:23 ?For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.? and Romans 6:23 ?For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.?) You must, by faith, ask Him to come into your heart/life and receive Him into your heart and life to live there forever. (John l:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to come sons {children} of God, even to them that believe on his name.?) You must, by faith, turn from your sins and live for Him the rest of your life. If you never come to do these things, you will not go to heaven. Give your heart and life to Jesus Christ today without delay. All of this is what is meant when the Lord Jesus Christ said: ?Jesus answered, and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto, Except a man be born again , he cannot see the kingdom of God (go to heaven).? You were born physically into your earthly family. To go to heaven you must be born again spiritually into your heavenly family, God's spiritual family. If you never have, do this today. This is my prayer for you.
Note: Under the dispensation/age of law, during the Kingdom Age, when Jesus Christ was on earth, there was one other sin that could not be forgiven. In Matthew 12:24: (?24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.?) The Pharisees accused the work of the Holy Spirit being of the devil. This particular sin had to do with casting a demon out of a blind and dumb (speechless) man. Several verses later in Matthew 12:31-32 (?31Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32And whosoever speaker a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaker against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come..?) Jesus said that accusing the work of the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) being of the devil was blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and could not be forgiven. It is up for grabs, I could be wrong, but, since casting out of demons, miracles, healing and raising the dead were public signs and wonders to convince the Jews that Jesus Christ was their Messiah and since there is very little casting out of demons in this day and age and, I personally feel that this particular sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit does not apply to us who live under the dispensation of grace in this church age. Under this age of living by faith under grace we have The Holy Bible to convince and show us How to live. We do not need signs and wonders. (?16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.? II Timothy 3:16-17.)
You must decide for yourself.

?

No. Churches don't want competition from other religions. Atheists are seen to have a high possibility of converting.

I know you're looking for an Abrahamic opinion, but I figured you'd be getting a lot of negative feedback, so I thought I would right something positive.

Even though I am not an Atheist, nor am I Christian or Muslim, I would just like to say that I appreciate the Atheists I know and their thoughtful perspective. I know that it is difficult to not belong to the majority religion.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that as a Pagan, I don't believe in a concept of "sin," so I obviously did not feel that Atheism is sinful. I also wanted to say that I feel that a person's actions are more important that the religion they choose to belong to in life.

Well technically no. But.........
The first commandment, which is the biggest one says You cannot have any other Gods before Him.
So based on a simple interpretation, better to not believe than have another for the sin.
However that can be interpreted as having no God is like casting Him aside.

But that is why you have free will.

God Bless any way.

I put it this way. I have more respect for a sinner than I do for a perpetrator who label his/her self an atheist. A sinner has a better chance of getting to Heaven.

Naw. Atheism isn't the worst. Jesus always gave people a choice between life or death. Either you followed him or you didn't and that was your free will. I'd say Luke 12:10 is the worst sin because it's the only one mentioned in the bible that WILL NOT be forgiven: "And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven."

God offered a Great Gift.. He offered Life. He paid a DEAR price. Not taking that gift is a slap in His face.. It is the unforgivable sin. Those who don't accept this gift are guilty of the that sin.... Jim

No all sins are equal, but I think being atheist would make you feel better about sinning, because you wouldn't believe you have to answer for any of your sins.

atheist=a stitched cut h(god summed up to one letter) e is stitched cut

thus My followers also?

just like Islam=I's Lari(pronounced Larry) cause all religions are supposed to lead to the one true god.

i can really only offer my hum our cause i understand what its like to be dirt poor with voices saying nobody loves you. so good luck to the poor and bush is the better choice over Kerry in my opinion because He is said to be poorer. you need a poor man to run your governments better because it proves he is a better manager of money. rich men waste, poor men conserve.

cause He is light and OT said He would use something foolish to shame the rich and power full so perhaps I AM that fool?

and it also says in the beginning was the word and then (by capitalization in times new roman font) the WORD became god. notice name TODD.

as my followers note its kind of crazy but follows scripture as all things to glorify HIM. (and times new roman font works best) but this side of ocean hates it because their armies opposed ROMANS in WNW2.

EMPEROR
GOD
GODDESS
KING
LORD
LADY
ANGEL
GENERAL
DEATH
HADES
BAT
TAP
STOP
ETC...

ALL THINGS THAT GLORIFY(SPREAD FAME) OF HIM considering reading between the lines they all pertain to a LARRY TODD S. with arm cuts appearing IIII I . And born 1968.9.I7 which is shown in 123456789 upside down when 4 appears as h upside down. where 7 upside down is a leg and 5 upside down is ear and 2 eiderdown is a face so it reads 68 leg 9 ear I7 E face I and god is I. thus the face of god.

thus god really did put a 1000 year seal on satan as M=IVI stitched together. so His right hand was god and His left arm was satan thus they said satan ruled as god. and ruled really meant He was a construction surveyor who measured roads.

so that was who i was. but biblically i was an orphan who bible says you are to give Me my rights? if not then your faith is worthless to Me.

so god is the beiginning and end means somewhere god changes and chooses a new name just as revelation says.
god is true(true=stitched cut are you arm)

gott is EIN is NI3( a IV I bone)

you may never get anything closer to descriptions of god then Me. and I AM not a ressurectionist cause the Lamb SLAIN=Larri b SL A I IV and RESSURECTION=Rill [iLS SURE CuT I O(space)IV. as the read between the lines specialist showns what it really means and i suspect if killed for real I ain't coming back, so I AM the real Lamb SLAIN which bible calls KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS that all things were biblically commanded to glorify. But existing powers will never recoqnize that prophesy from a book atleast 600 years old. and John said He is pure=DI stitched together ur e(arm) and D=IIII in shape. and that pavement shownsa I7 which glorified His birthday.

the heritics that don't glorify god?

DON
QUEEN
any others?

thats the reason they said the true ruler of the world was the evil one. cause between their street soldiers and queens authorities they want to destroy Me.

By denying God's existence, you are committing an unforgivable sin. And religion is not opinion, so just because you believe some religion, doesn't automatically make it true, or even acceptable. One reason why I say that religion is not opinion is that if a person exists, they exist. Give that person really awesome powers that most people don't even know about, and BOOM! You have a god, since amount of power is pretty much the only real difference between the qualifications of being a god and the qualifications of being a person (by linguistic definition, anyway). Now before you start asking how I know that I am right about my religion, know that the matter of who's right is completely irrelevant to the argument I am presenting; the argument I am presenting, however, is whether or not religion IN GENERAL is a matter of fact or opinion, and I support fact.

Just wanted to add something here for the Christians to ponder:

How can it be a sin to "deny God" when "God" has never shown you or I any indication that he/she exists? I would think that if God did show everyone that he/she does exist and you STILL refuse to accept God, then I could understand that as being a grave sin. But not believing? I don't believe in anything for which I don't have any evidence for.

I am a christian. I believe that God wants you to believe in him, but your disbelief is not the worst sin. It is worse to believe in God but to live and act as if you did not. Have you ever believed in God? Did your parents ever take you into a church? Were you baptized when you were younger? It is not easy to be a true Atheist in this country because Christianity and other faiths are represented all over this country. If God does not exist, what are all of these churches for? It is easier to be a skeptic. It is better to have doubts than to have complete disbelief.

Hey please read my answer to your question, thanks...

sin is sin... the consequences are different but there is no "worst sin", but there is an unforgivable sin.... denying Jesus while on earth and then dying in your sins...

You are an Athiest, the definition of an Athiest is one that chooses not to believe in God...

You obviously cannot prove or disprove the existence of God to anyone, right? It is a choice that one must make to believe in God....

There is a whole universe of evidence with which to use and determine if God exist....

In order for you to find or disprove God you would have to search the universe and beyond... all at once, in order to find Him or discover that He is not there...

So you cannot prove that God does not exist... but you choose to believe that way because it lines up with your ideology....

Now there are many unanswered questions in the Theory of Evolution... like:

How did the universe Big band itself into existence billions of years ago from nothing?

How does life form from non-life?

Where is the missing link? O yeah, there has to be millions of missing links in order for Evolution to be pro oven...

Did you know that DNA cannot form new information, it can only copy old information, it also shuffles information, that is why there is variety among each of the species... occasionaly it looses information and there you have cancer, birth defects, and so forth....

Evolution states that we all have a common ancestor... but it is scientifically impossible for DNA to form new information and evolve a creature....

It is also impossible for life of any kind to form from no-living objects....

such problems like this in the Theory of Evolution will never go away....

Therefore it takes a large amount of faith to believe in the Theory of Evolution...

Even though it is presented as truth... it does not line up with the facts and the evidence... and the only other alternative to Evolution is Creation, which leads to a Creator.... which some just cannot accept... they cannot open their minds enough to see the facts....

They never question their ideology and follow it blindly...

So Evolution is a religion and Athiesm is a faith...

But even though many of the facts are in favor of creation, many fear to tech it because of the religion that lines up with it... so they keep teaching what is unscientifical....

Evolution is a fairy tale.... Scifi... a Big lie... the facts are at war against it...

So it is the Facts as they are vs. the Truth as you see it...

And the facts will always win... they will never go away...

And all of this has led me... a lover of science and physics, to conclude that God is a fact... He is an inteligent being... not a mystical genie...

May God bless you and yours, and may He open your eyes...

If a child killer asks Jesus into his life, he'll go to Heaven. But a die hard atheist who lives as a humanist, doing his/her best to be a good person, will no doubt burn in eternal hellfire.

It's pretty twisted if you ask me. I'm still trying to figure out why religious fundamentalists that subscribe to this line of thinking actually believe they are morally grounded at all???

I guess it helps to explain why some Christians have worked so hard to cover up their perverse past (e.g. priests raping children). Because they feel all is forgiven by Christ, they can still get a good nights sleep. Too bad the victims are often doomed to a lifetime of restless nights........

Dear Shedoblyde: No. Atheism is not a sin nor a specific guilt unto itself. Never feel guilty or sinful. Thinking sin is even possible means that you be live the physical world your human eyes "see" is real. You believe further, that you are guilty for things you do. But I am here to tell you what you look upon is not real. Your sins and guilt's are as fanciful as this physical world is.

Atheism is for the intellect of the Mind. It must logic and reason, within the standards it sets up for itself. Yet, this denies that there is any other part of you that exists that is not human intellect.

It's as if the great Connection broke off or got lost somewhere. But, the truth is, and unknown to those Minds "sifting through" the data of the physical world , that it is a subconscious decision to Accept, Agree and Keep the Great Separation . . .

We are in the physical, when God Created only Spirit. We live in Cities and are surrounded by material things and can see nothing but the physical. Yet, God Created nothing that is perishable. All you see - is the perishable.

You see chaos, hatred, an uncontrollable Mother Nature, lack and limitation and opposition everywhere you turn. But God Created a design called the Kingdom in which a deep order of things ensured it's unlimited-Nessa, it's peace and a love so powerful it is better described as an Ecstacy.

So something doesn't gel ! Something happened, Shedoblyde, and this world arose in our fancies to hide what had happened. It was traumatic. Chaos arises from trauma. It had nothing to do with the Garden of Eden. It happened in Eternity. It is not a guilty thing, it is not a sin, but something happened. You see, many will not understand their Identity, Heritage and Inheritance until they face what happened. The Separation is real. It is not truly frightening or upsetting when understood.

The missing Connection is the utter denial of what occurred.
Read of it, learn about this. The cord of Connection is located inside of you. It re-activates by a change of Mind. A willingness to remember. There is no real veil. You can tatter it - through learning.

The decision is - do you Will it - or do you say, this world is good enough for you. . ..? Choose. There is no Lake of Fire.

I certainly hope they don't feel that way, though I'm thinking that many of them do.

But for those that do, I'd just like to point out... atheism is not a choice. You simply know the facts, or you don't. You can't expect a sane person to decide to become insane. It doesn't work that way. And there are two possible reasons for someone to be religious in this day and age...

1. You are insane

2. You haven't kept up with technology and scientific findings of the last 200 years.

And I don't mean that as an insult. There are a lot of things that aren't general knowledge, regarding religion. (One of the main reasons why is because religious people don't want anyone to know them...) But I guarantee you, religious folks. Do your research. It is quite insane to believe in the major religions today, given all the evidence we have displaying their shady and false origins.
