Default Atheism in Decline Worldwide- Why do you think it is?

God not so dead: Atheism in decline worldwide
Gurat, France ? There seems to be a growing consensus around the globe that godlessness is in trouble.

Atheism as a theoretical position is in decline worldwide, Munich theologian Wolfhart Pannenberg told United Press
His Oxford colleague Alister McGrath agrees. Atheism's future seems increasingly to lie in the private beliefs of individuals rather than in the great public domain it once regarded as its habitat, he wrote... Two developments are plaguing atheism these days. One is that it appears to be losing its scientific underpinnings. The other is the historical experience of hundreds of millions of people worldwide that atheists are in no position to claim the moral high ground.

Writes Turkish philosopher Harun Yahya, Atheism, which people have tried to for hundreds of years as 'the ways of reason and science,' is proving to be mere irrationality

Hmmmmm ... I thought Atheism was on the increase. Quite a bit of Europe is becoming increasingly Atheistic.

Sweetheart, don't you realize that the percentage of Christians stayed the same while Islam grew 4% of the world population. Yes, statistically from 1989 - 2001, non-religious affiliates declined. Are you saying that Islam is the solution?

And I have no clue what global warming has to do with Atheism. And no one says that Science has all the answers.

That's factually inaccurate according to every source in existence
with the exception of a theologian and his colleagues...
It doesn't matter to me what people believe or don't believe, but lying about numbers seems like a silly thing to do.

Atheism is for people who want to believe that they won't be held accountable for their actions, and use it to justify their wrong-doings. Not saying all Atheists are bad.

When Atheists cling to the Big Bang Theory, why did it happen? Why was there ever anything to begin with?

Now unfortunately, no religion carries all the answers because the true words have been mistranslated and in some cases manipulated over time.

All religions, in time, become mythologies. No one specific religion will ever triumph over any other... because no one specific religion has undeniable truth that can be pr oven, there is no proof in any "specific" god or gods.

What are the "scientific underpinnings" of atheism?

Atheism needs no proof or scientific underpinnings. The claim that gods exist requires proof, requires science. As far as I know, no telescope or microscope has ever revealed any gods. Beautiful, wondrous nature, yes... but no gods.

Science proves and underpins many things... but it does not prove the existence of powerful, invisible, magical beings, that no one can see, hear, smell, taste or touch.

Anyone who thinks they can prove that gods exist, can go ahead and post a link to that proof.

By the way... things written in books are not proof, and besides, most religions have some sort of book, so if that is your argument, why is one book better than the others?

Also... Don't forget... everyone that has their religion, is an atheist in another religion. What do I mean?

A Christian in Turkey or Iran is an atheist... for not believing in Allah.

A Muslim in the Vatican is an atheist... for not believing in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

All of these are atheists in a Hindu temple... for not believing in Vishnu...

...etc...

...you get the point.

Just believing in "some god" is not the same as believing in the right god... if there is a right god.
