You've got that backwards, pally. Having faith there IS a god doesn't make him any less imaginary.

How about we switch this around a little bit.
Do you think that having faith in Santa Claus makes him any less fake?

Faith means believing unproven things are real, with or without evidence. I do not have faith there is no god, I simply don't believe there is one.

How could a god become any less real than not existing at all?

No, just as having faith that there is a god makes god no more real - but please, go on, I find your preaching absolutely enthralling. ^-^

Gravity takes no faith, step off a building and you'll live it. Thats what real is.

Do you think that by having faith that your computer does not exist it will make it any less real?

Or do you think that having faith that it exists will make it any more real?

OF COURSE NOT! Things are real or unreal regardless of what the heck anybody believes.

I am a theist but I have to say that this is a stupid question. They believe that there is no God. If they thought that God could be "less real" that would imply some degree of reality, which would mean that they would not be atheists.

Theists, look at it the other way round, if someone asked you whether you though that having faith in God made him less unreal that would be a stupid question wouldn't it!

Faith is irrelevant, only evidence matters: There is no evidence for a magical sky pixie.

Kid, you believe in your imaginary little space man based on FAITH... that NO evidence thingies.

I don't believe your imaginary little space bloke exists because of the lack of evidence... nothing to do with faith.

Why can't Christians be honest?
Why can?t they just say:
"I know my beliefs are illogical, but I've been brainwashed into believing these things my entire life."
OR
"I am too weak to live in this world, without the hope that there is someone watching over me, and I need to believe in an afterlife".
OR
"I am too scared to even consider the possibility that there is no God, for fear of being punished by him".
OR
"The thought of hell is so terrifying to me, that I have to believe, and be good".
