Default Are the roots of atheism the distant and in-affectionate motherhood of our times?

Considering humans haven't believed in God as long as they've been around I'd say yes.

No.. atheists in past history didn't have doctrines, dogma, or tried to apply 'science' to a subject they had no understanding of like new atheism does today.

Not really because I know some atheist who are being loved by their parent specially by their mothers.
I believed that the root of atheism is the refusal to acknowledge that there is someone who is in control of their life (and it is not them). So mainly it is pride that result to a STUPID decision to be against God. Since God is so powerful and cannot be defeated by anyone, the only way to do it is to deny His existence (doesn't mean He is defeated that way) but at least God is already out of their mind to worry about.( can you see the STUPIDITY?)
