hopefully one day, but the fear of hell is enough to keep even the most intelligent under the spell.

Higher levels of education, lower incidence of religion.

Once the Muslims have blown themselves and the Christians up.

I hope you're not suggesting this would lend any legitimacy to the mindset.

Were I to use it as an argument for the legitimacy of Christianity, I'd barely hit 'enter' before the atheists were responding with the 'ad populism'.

Now, that said, I am not sure it ever will.

I'm of the opinion one of the "God lite" mindsets will reign supreme. UU, for example.

Maybe whenever everyone minds their business on what others believe or don't believe. Which means never at this rate.

They HAVE been. For a long time. Billions of years. It's only recently theism has popped up, and now fortunately we're stopping wasting an enormous amount of time, conflict, and money on religion because people are learning to be objective and we're able to explain more and more phenomena.

Sadly, I think we'll be mind-traveling to distant planets at super-sonic speeds before thirty-five-percent of the population becomes agnostic.

i think that will never happen because well atheist are better then Xians,jews and Muslims but there is so much they dint know and what they know do sent seem to be enough to make them majority because people will find something else they will see being a atheist feels so empty

Religion has been with mankind from the outset, when he first became human, a few million years ago. It'll be with us for a while yet. We don't need gods any more, but they are all but in our genes and therefore he will take some removing.

Soon, hopefully. Unfortunatly, the Christians are good at scaring people into their beliefs, so it's going to be awhile yet.

The fact is, God exists...and God will NOT be ignored, cannot be ignored! God is LIFE, and life itself, is God being expressed in the world..you see. Hoping that the world will become atheist just can't and will never happen.

Sadly I don't see that happening. It would depend how parents raise their kids & kids getting education without being terrified of fictional punishments. The human brain has so much potential but it keeps getting wasted.
Though I must say I can't believe people still read a fairy-tale book and adjust their lives accordingly. So pathetic...

Probably sooner than we all can imagine.
