What is YOUR definition of Atheism or being an Atheist?

i define it as not believing in a god, but not saying 100% there is absolutely NO god. for you can never disprove anything absolutely.

no you can't. we don't know anything for sure. there is always a slight chance, no matter how tiny, that we are wrong about something. so saying we know something 100% is just being ignorant.

Really? You actually took the time to ask this? If you had even a rudimentary understanding of logic, you would know that you most certainly can disprove any number of things absolutely.

It is perfectly possible to disprove something absolutely. I can absolutely disprove any claim that I have two heads for example.

I can also disprove the existence of any god for which specific claims are made.

I'm not saying there is no God, I'm just saying I don't believe in one.

I think you said it. It's basically an apathy toward the ideas about or the existence of a supreme being, not necessarily an anti-position.

I'm a religious person, so I'm just trying to make logical sense of it.

To believe that there is no way to know for sure if any god exists, makes one an agnostic.

There are no such things as personal definitions, or a personal language in general. Langauge is a social construct.

Atheism is just that. Saying you know for %100 there is no God. It's pretty easy to see how there is no God, only idiots and evil leaders believe in God.

An insecure person rebelling against mommy and daddy or trying to fit into society to conform. A handful are atheists due to self debate and logical thinking.

There are two types of atheism:

Strong atheism means you believe there is no god.

Weak atheism means you do not believe there is a god.

A subtle, but important, distinction.

When you wake up and realize that all religions are man-made, that's the day you become an atheist. I'm a weak atheist in that I don't worship a god, but saying with 100% certainty that no god exists seems a bit too dogmatic for me, so I'm ultimately an agnostic...
