Default Christians & Atheist which story is true about our creation?

We human descended from a type of ape over millions of years and are close cousins with chimpanzees, we look similar and share 96% of are DNA

or the alternative

We were created by dirt and a rib broken off from the person made of dirt in a couple of days a few thousand years ago.
Atheist's*

"We were created by dirt and a rib broken off from the person made of dirt in a couple of days a few thousand years ago" makes a Hell of a lot more sense!

Clearly the dirt/McRib hypothesis is more believable.

I swear, women even smell like McRib sandwiches to me. Clearly that's undeniable proof that God magicked us all into existence a couple thousand years ago and then put fossils in the ground to test our faith in addition to altering our DNA to make it seem "as if" we evolved over millions of years and accumulated lots of junk DNA, useless genes, and endogenous retroviruses.

God is one tricky sonsofbitches.

God Himself spoke and wrote that he created this world in 6 x 24 hour days. Exodus 20:11.

BOTH are nonsense. The apes is closer, but THAT hypothesis is wrong. Both apes and humans diverged from a common ancestor. We evolved TOGETHER, not one from the other.

Neither.

We actually share roughly 98% of our DNA with chimpanzees. Also, the common ancestor we descended from isn't a type of ape, it's a species that is ape-like.

You don't know the truth. Maybe you should keep looking.

Some 25 millions of years ago we were early animal man and not apes as such but we did have intercourse with huge she apes to then generate the chimpanzees, so we are before them and not descended from them, sorry Darwin got it wrong he started at the wrong end of life, should have come down the scales somewhat. We were so given Mind at 18.5 millions of years ago.

My friend, your answer is your question itself. It is the truth, but there is a mistake, we didn't descend from an ape, we descended from an ancestor common to the chimpanzees and some other animal. But "some" people or souled i say "intelligent" people cannot accept this fact because they think it's absurd. I mean just look at that, they cannot accept that we are from animals too but they are guaranteeing that we may have been made from dust.

P.S : Screw u God ...oops i sinned

The answer to your question is found in the bibles explanation at Ecclesiastes 3:19. And, 19:4-5. It explains there that all living creatures are made of dirt, chimps including. But Genesis 1 and 2 explains the difference between the two types of creation.

So both are right.

We share 94% of our DNA with bananas. Maybe you were evolved from a piece of fruit.

The biblical version is a myth. The only reason it's not called a myth in everyday usage is because the Christian religion still holds political sway.

The one about God and the rib.

The talking ape thing makes for an interesting fairy tale, but it is hardly believable, especially in the light of scientific evidence.

Most Christians know that the story in Genesis is largely an allegory but even those who think it's historical also get some of the allegory. Atheists only look for something to criticize and don't get that.

I just had to correct "Matthew"- God did NOT write the Bible.
Geez, the things some people actually believe!

The former describes real events, as indicated by every single test we've ever performed in failed attempts to disprove it.

But I don't think that I'd really call mixing up batches of genetic information to be "creation."

Scientists agree that it took billions of years of star formation and destruction to produce all the elements necessary for life, and which elements developed on our planet, so that every living cell of every living creature is actually star-dust. The earth is made up of all those elements that originated with the development of stars, so when the Bible says God created man from the DUST of the ground (not dirt), that is scientifically true. And it also allows for billions of years given that the 'days' of creation need not be confined to 24 hour Earth days (the Hebrew word does not have a rigid meaning but refers to a time span).

Further, the DNA of man was used to form woman (which is where the rib reference comes in) and already scientists are grafting stem cells on to structures (like ears or arms) so that a whole organ can be shaped and start to function. The creator of DNA can do whatever He likes with it; we are only beginners in that field of expertise. Mankind was a special, direct creation of God. However, you can see how modern scientific discoveries fit comfortably with the ancient written record of our origins.
