Default I am not here to ruin your day atheists...?

I have a better understanding of how Atheists feel towards the Christian Faith, having asked the question on Y/A and gotten a good response. I think it is important to keep the communication open, because we are stuck with each other I would say that there is a lot of misinformation about Christianity (I have been a believer for 25 years) and misunderstandings about Atheists. The question is, since we have to live side by side, how can we best come to an understanding of each other? Is there any evidence from an atheist perspective that you can get along with Christians, and is there any evidence from Christians, that you can get along with Atheists? Christians, how is it that so many people have come to believe that we mean harm to humanity? What a mess!

No, each time a christian knows I'm an atheist they go and preach to me about y I'm a atheist and god loves me. Im sick of that crap and every atheist knows Wat I'm talking about. So i expect no atheist to side with Christan's. Its their fault

Mohhamed. I like your question, thank you. For me personally, I have no problem with people having their own beliefs and religion, because for many it is very important in their life. I can live side by side any person's religion, as long as they:
- don't stuff their religion down my throat
- respect my views and beliefs
- accept me for being who and what I am
- accept that people are born the way they are for a reason
- do not put down people for being gay or bisexual
- live and let live

If all religions did this, the world would indeed be a happier place.

Why is this question in the Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgendered section? If you are assuming we are all atheists, you are sadly mistaken and misinformed. In answer to your question though, I'm not sure. I just try to get along with everyone and don't really think about what religion they are. People are people. Mutual respect I'd say is an essential component of respecting others beliefs and getting along

Accepting that your religion is a dangerous lifestyle choice would be a good start.
Any religion which would vehemently seek to deny rights to other human beings just because of the way they were born is intent on harming humanity. It is a mess, created by entirely by religion.
