It doesn't take a rocket scientist or even a bible to know the difference between good and bad. At least if Society and your parents tried to raise you right.

one standard defining rule - "treat others as you would like others to treat you" - otherwise known as the Golden Rule, which predates organized religion

I judge people on their actions and character, never on looks, or religion. I'm atheist (as I'm answering this) i have Christian friends etc.

Good and bad are completely subjective. They are defined by social norms and therefore change all the time and are different for each society. For example, the age of consent ranges from 12 to 21 across the globe - Who is right and who is wrong? The answer is no one or everyone. To apply your social norms to another society simply doesn't work.

...... who said we don't believe good and evil exist? Murderers and immoral and thieves and just bad people who cause harm are evil, people who are kind and have morals and help, etc, are good.... like the first guy, nature and nurture....

There is an understanding that opposites need to exist, therefore there is bad so that good can happen as well.
This has nothing to do with Atheist it is universal for everybody.
