What are the similarities concerning the role of Jesus in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Baha'i
By the way, I am writing a 27 page paper and am out of ideas and research. I need some different view points so that I am not biased in my paper.

In every religion there seems to be a central point. That central point being LOVE.....

Jesus is the LOVE not only for Christians but for the world as a whole...

Christians believe that Jesus (may peace be upon him) is the son of God, whereas the other religions believe that he was a messenger/prophet of God, sent with the Bible - the message of God was conveyed to mankind by one of their own.

AFAIK, Judaism considers Jesus to be a rogue rabbi with no divinity or prophet hood.

Christianity is pretty self-evident.

Islam, Jesus is referred to as a prophet with, I believe, equivalency to Muhammed. Muhammed is referred to as a prophet and the "Seal of the Prophets", so while they are equivalent in station, Muhammed's message and religion supersedes Christianity's.

The Baha'i Faith extends the Islamic concept. Christ is referred to as His Holiness Jesus Christ in Baha'i sacred writings, and much like Islam he is considered a Manifestation of God--as are Muhammed, and the Bab and Baha'u'llah (the 2 Manifestations of the Baha'i Era). But Baha'u'llah explains that were to any Manifestation to say "I am God", he would speak the truth; because the Manifestations are perfect reflections of God. I have included a link to Baha'u'llah's most well-known explanation below; it begins at paragraph 14 ("The Bearers of the Trust of God..."). Especially see the third-to-last paragraph: "Were any of the all-embracing Manifestations of God to declare: 'I am God,' He, verily, speaker the truth, and no doubt attacheThhereto."

From the Jewish concept Jesus was a Jew. From a Christian standpoint Jesus is God. From an Islamic stand point Jesus is a prophet. From a Baha'i standpoint Jesus is exactly who he said he was.

Jesus played an important role in the history of the world by teaching the world love. Unfortunately in order to learn about love you have to learn about pain. This is why the Christian and Catholic churches have been the cause of so much pain in the history of the the world. The Spanish Inquisition is the best example of what NOT to do when a church becomes powerful. The Catholic church was hijacked by Pagans and restricted the reading of the bible to only the clergy and this didn't change until Martin Luther came along. Not to mention the Crusades.

The prophecies of Jesus were astounding and one of the main reason there are still so many believers in Christianity and Catholicism. He told his people that there would not be a stone left sitting one on top of an other from the place that he was at the time. Shortly after the Romans came in and destroyed everything. The Jews were exiled from the land of Israel until 1844 when a paper was signed that allowed the Jews to go back to Israel. Which Jesus said was a sign that he would return. All this came true. Now the Jews went in and started to buy up the land in the area and in 1948 they reestablished Israel as a nation.

The Jews never excepted Jesus as the Messiah. Just as the Christians never accepted Mohammad. And as the world today is not excepting Baha'u'llah. This is a repetition of what we do with the messengers from God. We reject them and persecute them and then we kill them.

Baha'u'llah came with one purpose in mind. The unification of all mankind.
