Default Does anyone belong to the Baha'i faith? What do you think about it?

I am catholic and I have a great friend who belongs to the Bahai Faith. He is a decent, hard working individual and his family is very close and dear to mine. I have no problem at all with him being Baha'i and I am sure he has no problems with me being Catholic. That says a lot, doesn't it?

I've considered it as a religion for myself, but it has a few too many flaws.

I am a Baha'i. I love it -- otherwise, I wouldn't belong to it! :-)

I read, studied and prayed a lot before I became a Baha'i. I remember when I was reading one book, I found a quote I wanted to save -- so I wrote it down. The next sentence was pretty good, too -- so I copied that, too. Liked the next one, too.... pretty soon, I had about 12 pages... :-)

A friend gave me a Baha'i prayer. I didn't even know it was a prayer -- I just knew that reading it made me feel better, so I used to read it whenever I was stressed or depressed. I still do.

I have been a Baha'i for over 40 years.

I decided back then that either the claims of both Jesus and Baha'u'llah were correct, or both were false. I further decided that it was more reasonable that both were true. Therefore I accepted Baha'u'llah as the Return of Christ. This provides the best explanation for what has happened in the world the last 200 years.

We are witnessing today on a world wide basis what the early Christians witnessed on a regional basis as the Roman Empire collapsed. This decline will continue until the generality of mankind adopts a God centered life as taught by Baha'u'llah.

Many people are attracted to the progressive concepts of the Faith such as the equality of men and women and the elimination of prejudice. But they are unable to reconcile these ideas with the Baha'i rejection of the use of the recreational use of consciousness altering substances, and any form of sexual activity outside of marriage between a man and woman. The teachings of a Messenger of God are determined by the needs of society, not the desires of the individual.

If your current life provides you with a sense of ease about yourself and life - fine. If not, perhaps you should begin a serious study of the teachings of the Baha'i Faith.

To me the Baha'i faith is precisely the imminent reality I discerned when reading the words of Jesus in the Gospels...

I didn't even hear about the Baha'i faith until a couple years after my life was dramatically transformed for the better by studying the Christian bible, and is was a wonderful relief to read the writings stating all the things to the letter I knew the world would need to become its loving potential between all people.

I wish I were as excellently discerning now as when I first came to God, but I do know God led me to this faith to cure my despair of the ailing world so reluctant to change. My sadness was nothing less than what's called the second death, and how marvelous it is that God can revive a person even from that!

I can't justify Baha'i religion any more than Christianity, but I can say I know they came from God, and despite imperfect followers, are a tremendous outpouring of grace upon those sincere enough to find even a hint of their unified truth.

If you read Jesus, or Baha'u'llah you read the one spirit of all sent by God.
