The religion of Baha'i?

Today while reading articles on CNN.com i came across one that mentioned a faith i have not heard of Baha'i. I looked it up somewhat and ind end to more where i get home but, has anyone any knowledge of this good or bad to make it easier to understand?

It's a 19Th-century Persian religion, monotheistic but which incorporates traditions from Abrahamic religions and Buddhism, among others.

A friend of mine is Bah?'?. She doesn't proselytize or condemn other people. She seems pretty happy.

The Baha'i faith is an independent world religion whose purpose is to unite the peoples of the world in One common Cause and One common faith. It is founded in Iran, by Baha'u'llah (Manifestation of God) in the 19Th century.

We believe in all the Prophets (Manifestations) of God, including Mohammed, Jesus, Moses and so on. Every now and then the world needs to be illumined and guided with Manifestations of God > progressive revelation. It is like a plant, at first it is a seed then it grows and grows till it becomes a beautiful flower.

Principles like unity in diversity, equality between men and women and that science and religion should go hand in hand are important in the Baha'i faith.

Is it the article about the persecutions going on in Iran? This is really sad, their crime is that they just want to have peace on earth...
