My cousin is Baha'i - they are monotheists, they evolved out of Islam.

Polytheistic. They believe in the Jewish god, the Christian god, the Islamic god and 5 or more others. Granted, they try to say that all of these different gods are the same, but any objective look shows that they are very distinctive individual gods and not related to each other.

Is Catholicism monotheistic?

Since the Catholic faith embraces a Father and a Son and a Holy Ghost, and a whole calendar full of saints, it's fair to consider Catholicism as a polytheistic faith. On the other hand, Catholics as a whole pretty much call themselves monotheistic.

If you're sure that the Catholic faith is monotheistic, you can be equally sure that the Baha'i is monotheistic as well.

I am a Baha'i. The Baha'i Faith is most assuredly monotheistic; it is one of the most basic teachings of our Faith.

I am afraid that Lord Percy Wooster IV is mistaken. The Baha'i Faith is not a heretical Islamic sect. It is an independent world religion that has its beginnings in Islamic tradition, precisely as Christianity has its beginnings in Judaism. However, Islam and the Baha'i Faith are completely separate religions.
