Default What do you think of this quote from the writings of the Baha'i Faith, an independant

Religion should unite all hearts and cause wars and disputes to vanish from the face of the earth, give birth to spirituality, and bring life and light to each heart. If religion becomes a cause of dislike, hatred and division, it were better to be without it, and to withdraw from such a religion would be a truly religious act.

'an independent global religion'. That sounds rather ominous.
Religion does not cause wars and disputes.. People do.

The first part may be true, though cannot be plausible if there are more than one religion. The human race is very violent and reverts to fighting for everything, especially religion.

I don't think people should withdraw from true beliefs. If people in your religion are doing stupid things, that isn't the religion's fault. It's the idiots' fault...

i think it's very true. I'm not sure if people should give up their religion for a few extremists, though.
