Because it's still less than 200 years old. You need to be around for longer until the status quot starts calling you a "religion" and not a "cult". Pathetic, but that's how it goes.

Probably because it is an outgrowth of Islam and is therefore easily dismissed by the other faiths.

Perhaps ever since the government of Iran reduced their numbers by genocide, there's not enough practitioners left to be called a religion.

Because Bahia does not teach how to get to heaven.

The truth is that JESUS is God, and only Jesus offers a free gift of salvation by faith alone in Jesus without works.

Every other belief system forces you to try to "earn" heaven, or to ignore heaven (like atheism)

But nobody can "earn" heaven, and ignoring heaven just leaves the person unsaved and on the way to hell. And it is too late to be saved, after death.

The truth is that the death and blood of Jesus is the only acceptable SACRIFICE and PAYMENT for our sins, and we are all sinners. JESUS died on the cross and shed His blood, for our sins. Nothing else pays for any of our sins, and it is already done. All the good deeds in the world won't pay for even ONE of our sins. All the "living a moral life" won't pay for even one of our sins. No "religions of the world" can pay for Antone's sins.

The truth is that Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead. That is why Jesus had to die on the cross, because there is no other way for us to be saved. You must believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, to be saved! John 3:16! That easy to get into heaven!

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to hell, is by believing in JESUS for His free gift of eternal life in heaven, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what! John 3:16, John 6:47!

Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! And the Trinity is true! Jesus is the Messiah!

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in JESUS for His free gift of salvation! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

Please pray now: "Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die!

The ONLY WAY to get into heaven, is by believing in Jesus for His free gift of salvation! John 14:6, Acts 4:12, John 3:16!

There are some people who consider any religion other than their own a 'cult' but this is a misuse of the term. The definition of a cult is "followers of an exclusive system of religious beliefs and practices" so people who take this position and reduce religion to selling fire insurance are the cultists. The Baha'i Faith is just the opposite, for Baha'u'llah tells His followers to 'consort with the followers of all religions with joy and spirituality."

The only people who consider the Baha'i Faith a "Cult" are those who are ignorant of it or who, as one poster here has put it, believe that Jesus alone is the way to heaven. By this latter definition, only Christianity is religion and all else is a cult, which is another kind of ignorance. In popular parlance, a cult is any religious belief of which one disapproves.

The question itself is backwards. Rather, it should be, what is the Baha'i Faith and what is religion? The Baha'i Faith has at its center two Manfiestations of God (special Personages who embody divine attributes and are set apart from other human beings). These are the Bab (1819-1850) and Baha'u'llah (1817-1892). They lived exemplary lives in which they suffered persecution yet also triumphed and brought salvation to humanity, bringing into existence a community spread around the world that is offering this gift to all humanity. They revealed the Word of God, a corpus of scripture that gives us God's will and purpose for this era. They also taught that all the great revealed religions of the past are part of a single progressively revealed Faith of God. The Baha'is are not deprived of Jesus. He is the Son of God who brought atoning salvation and (often forgotten by Christians) a set of teachings about personal spiritual life, ethics, and morality. But for many in the West, it is the Baha'i belief that Muhammad was a Manifestation and the Qur'an a God-revealed Book that gives people concern. This stems from ignorance of Islam, clouded by the actions of a radical portion of the religion.

Baha'u'llah writes "The well-being of mankind, its peace and security, are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established. This unity can never be achieved so long as the counsels which the Pen of the Most High hath revealed are suffered to pass unheeded." The oneness of humanity is the crying need of the world today, which comes through trial and experience, but most completely through the Word of God and His Manifestation for this time in history.

You should not be fearful or worried about those who throw around the word cult. It is a way of avoiding the responsibility of investigating, a way to remain in ignorance. You can educate them, but they may not listen. The growth of God's faith and diffusion of His message are in His hands. As Quen VICtoria is reported to have said, after receiving a letter from Baha'u'llah: "If this is of God, it will endure. If it is not, it is of no consequence." It has grown for 167 years and is now in every country.
