Default What is the relationship between the Baha'i Faith and the Masonic or Freemasonary?

i have suspicions about the Baha'i Faith
could it be a masonic tool to convince the world that there is no Satan and also to make no resistance for the New World that they want to create for the Antichrist
so i hope that some Bahia's clear it for me
i hate that i can't discuss with you in this site
so i will just expand my explanation
i know enough about the Baha'i faith because i have many friends
and i know about the Freemasonry what you dint know
you should see series called The Arrivals to know what i mean
it doesn't mention Bahai faith but you can relate

There is no connection whatsoever between the Bahai religion and the Masons.

There is none, and your suspicions are unfounded.

You obviously know nothing about the Baha'i faith and probably just as much about the Freemasons.

thanks for the laugh.

There's no relationship. Bahai rules do not allow their members to join secret organizations, such as the Masons. Any who may break the rule, are likely to lose their administrative rights in the Bahai community. This was, for example, stipulated by Shoghi Effendi in a cable in 1954 (see http://reference.bahai.org/en/t/se/UD/ud-443.html for the text).

Freemasons' attitude to the Bahais varies. One French Freemason journal, La Cha?ne Union DE Paris : journal DE la Conneryroeiverselle ... for July
- August 1889, has an article at pp. 239-248 called Les Babis de la Perse et la Francmaconnerie Universelle, by A. Hubert-Gourrier. He concludes at page 248:

"Universal Freemasonry not only has nothing in common with Babism, in respect to its origin, its principles or its goal; it is bound to combat Babism as an immoral and anti-humane institution. ... Universal Freemasonry, as the protector of humanity, must resolve to destroy this obstacle which temporarily impedes universal progress."

(Babi) here refers to both the Babi and the Bahai Faiths. French freemasonry at the time was militantly anti-religion, which would not I think be true of Scottish freemasonry at the time, or American freemasonry today. So the most one can say is that the two movements have little in common, and sometimes Freemasonry may have been vigorously anti-Bahai.

That journal is available online at gallica.bnf.fr, the site of the Biblioteque Nationale de France

Baha'i is a kind of Unitarian faith, interesting to study, but the beliefs are a little far out there. There is a center near me and I looked into them a few years back. It so happens they are largely opposed not necessarily to Freemasonry itself, (as far as I learned there is no official denouncement of Masonry within the faith) but many of their motivations do run contrary to the liberties and freedom supported by Masonry.

The basis behind the Baha'i faith is the belief that all faiths are indeed worshiping the same God, (in other words that all religions are actually "right".) and that the message of God has been received differently by different groups of people in order to meet their specific requirements of understanding. Further the belief is that all of mankind must eventually come to exist under a single universal faith, which will lead to man living under one universal rule of law.

Masonry has no expressed opinion as to if any religion is right or wrong, only that each man has the freedom to worship as he sees fit without persecution. Likewise Masonry supports the sovereignty of individual nations and supports the freedom for individuals or groups to govern themselves or to live under differing forms of government as they themselves see fit.

So while having only a cursory understanding of each it can appear as if the Baha'i faith shares common ground with Freemasonry, the fact is a deeper understanding of both leads to the conclusion that the dogmatic idealism and goals of that particular faith versus the principles and virtues of the fraternity are rather contradictory. I'd say chances are slim you would find a Baha'ist who is a Mason or vise verse. The Baha'ists worry me a bit too, but so do "Christian" congregations with names like "Unity of all Nations Baptist Church". (Really exists!)
