You cannot eat from sun rise to sun set. In my area that's about 7am to 6:30pm. Before and after those times, though, you can eat and drink all you want. Drink a lot of water at those times as to stay hydrated. You cannot drink anything, eat anything, chew gum, eat mints, or have any consumption of any kind during the day. Also, if you look in a book of prayers there are a set of prayers regarding the days of the fast. It lasts the entire month of Ala (March 2 - 20). It's meant as a time for you to self-discipline and become closer to God. Just use it as a time to pray and re acclimate yourself with the words of Bahaullah. Also, those under heavy physical labor, pregnant/nursing, or ill are exempt from the fast. I hope that helped! Good luck!
