Yes. It's bullshit. Look into Christianity, specifically Lutheranism.

Everything, when done in the proper amount (including Right Meditation) will lead to the separation of the individual from earthly desires and the dissolution of the ego into Nirvana.

Hey. JaquesC crawl back into your Lutheran shell. Buddhism started 600 years before Christianity and many scholars believe Jesus studied it as their teachings are very similar.
Anybody that follows the 8fold path, Buddhist or not, will improve their lives and outlook on life and bring them closer to nirvana, but you probably don't know what nirvana is

Hi.. From what i have known , by practicing the noble 8 fold path , one gets to developed the insight stages of Sula , sadhu and Penna gradually .

Sila means morality
Samadhi means concentration
Panna means wisdom

There is nothing much i can say here , but perhaps maybe u could check out some Buddhist website for more information and not post the question here because most of the Pol who give an answer here are not very clear about this .

However , u must remember that in order to attain Nibbana , one must put in mind the the four noble truth and practice the noble eight fold path .
