Default Would the world be a better place if Buddhism was the world's largest religion?

I heard that there has never been a war in the name of Buddhism...so wouldn't the world be a better place if everyone was a Buddhist?

Yes and No....
Buddhism for the most part is a very enlightened form of spirituality, but... everyone has their own path and must take it.

The world would be a better place if everyone was on their path of enlightenment through whatever tradition they are drawn to.

Blessings

Yes, Buddhism is the way forward. It is about ones self, not about worshiping a higher icon. Peace and meditation is the key

Though right now Buddhism is a minor religion and incapable of causing harm, a quick scan of the history of Central Asia will show that Buddhism too has had wars fought in its name.

Yes, the world would be relatively more peaceful because of Buddhist philosophy and toleration of other paths of spirituality.

At the present time it is the fourth largest religion.

Nope because they believe in reincarnation which doesn't exist and they practice idolatry when worship ping Buddha. They don't have a personal relationship with God.

If you are looking for a proof of earnest faith that certainly looks good on the surface, but there isn't a god in Buddhism, is there? So where there is no GOD it seems to be an empty "faith"

Same old christian responses showing a typical lack of knowledge. We do not worship idols nor a god. we show respect to enlightenment, the priesthood and the tea chins of the Buddha. Buddhahood is a state of enlightenment, which is the aspiration of all Buddhists. This is achieved by living correctly by being aware of our thoughts and actions
