Theravada Buddhism is the Buddhism that didn't get expanded on or mixed with any other culture or religion; all sects of Buddhism acknowledges the Buddha as a great teacher and nothing more. Hinduism acknowledges him as an avatar of Krishna. Or Vishnu, but Krishna is an avatar of Vishnu. Try http://www.buddhanet.net andhttp://www.beliefnet.com/Faiths/2001/06/What-Hindus-Believe.aspx

Please forgive this, I know it doesn't answer your question, but it nudged me to share.

I was in a place where I came upon a Buddhist temple, and saw many Red Clad Monks at its entry. Also at the entry was a very large statue of a typical Buddha image. As I approached I could see most of the monks laughing, jostling each other and taking off a sandal to press their foot against the foot of the statue.

I stopped, was welcomed and asked about what seemed to be an enjoyable experience for them. One of them, smiled and said. "We do this as a form of an exercise. No one of us can ever make the same size footprint as our God."

Theravada Buddhism is a modified version of the belief that Buddha Shakyamuni taught. The relationship between Hinduism and Buddhism is briefly explained in section titled, ?Buddhist Qigong and Buddhism?, in the Zhuan Fulan Lecture on the web.

Falun Gong is a unique school, found in 1992 by Master Li Hongzhi in China. About 100 million followers like the practice in over 80 countries worldwide. Falun Gong is an ancient practice for the body, mind, and spirit based upon the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. Falun Gong consists of five sets of powerful exercises.

Falun Gong, Tibetans, other Buddhists, and Christians have been persecuted in China. The most offensive human right violation is the organ harvesting from the Falun Gong practitioners in China. Can you kindly sign a petition to stop persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, please ?

There is no Crater and destruct or in Buddhism.

There is no cast system in Buddhism.

Enlightenment is sought through practice of noble 8 fold path and middle path, not self mortification
