It's being practiced in Thailand, Burma and Sri Lanka.
However, facilities in Thailand would be more convenient
compared to others. Where are you residing now?
If you need further assistance, you could contact me at
yankeeroj@yahoo.com
as I'm in Thailand and I'd be happy to help you,
by that, I mean if and only if you really want to practice.

Wishing you'll succeed,
Roj

Origin of Buddhism is India.

There was only one Buddhism during Buddha time.

There should be one Buddhism in present day.

After the historical Buddha died naturally the teachings lived on. The Buddha had said to go around and teach others and help them. However a certain segment pulled away from the people and decided to just study the scriptures themselves and forgot to go out to the people, this became Theravada. After this a group formed who went out and taught other people and remembered, this became Mahayana.

It is practiced in most countries where any form of Buddhism is, Theravada practitioners are the monks and nuns you hear about. They also exist in the united states and England. I also know of some in Canada and France.

Copied from the Zhuan Falun Lecture on the web:
"During its development, Buddhism underwent several relatively major reforms. One took place shortly after Sakyamuni passed away. Some people founded Mahayana4 based on the high-level principles Sakyamuni taught. They believed that the Dharma Sakyamuni taught publicly was intended for everyday people?s self-salvation and the attainment of Arhatship. That Dharma did not offer salvation to all beings and was therefore called Hinayana.5 Monks in Southeast Asia continue to follow the original cultivation way of Sakyamuni?s time. In China, we call it the ?Small Vehicle? Buddhism. Of course, they do not think so themselves. They believe that they have inherited Sakyamuni?s original tradition. It is indeed so, as they have
basically inherited the cultivation way of Sakyamuni?s time."
4 Mahayana??the Great Vehicle Buddhism.?
5 Hinayana??the Small Vehicle Buddhism.?

Theravada is yet another derivative of Hinayana.

If you're interested in the Buddhist practice, consider Falun Gong because its practice offer path to enlightenment without becoming a monk as an option. The details are explain in the beginning pages in the lecture. Falun Gong is a unique Buddhist School. Falun Gong was found in 1992 by Master Li Hongzhi in China. About 100 million followers like the practice in over 80 countries worldwide. Falun Gong is an ancient practice for the body, mind, and spirit based upon the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. Falun Gong consists of five sets of powerful exercises.

Falun Gong, Tibetans, other Buddhists, and Daoists have been persecuted in China. The most offensive human right violation is the organ harvesting from the Falun Gong practitioners in China. Can you kindly sign a petition to stop persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, please ?
