Mark Tanner is my personal favorite.

Keanu Reeves does SOME writing but his acting career is more famous.

Indiguous Soiso is a good author and a very religious and peaceful monk in Theravada.

Salon Marty is a good one and has tons of books, but he is more popular in the movies.

There's Bikkhu Bodhi. He's an American Theravada monk.

Thich Nhat Hanh, although I'm not exactly sure he is Theravada.
