Buddhism doesn't worry too much about the supernatural, but provides guidelines to help Buddhists live good, upright lives, so it shapes how Buddhists view, interact with, and shape the world around them.

actually all religion teaches the better way of how the being should be, how to deal with all sort of problem, spiritual development, the way of life, happiness , compassion and so on. but the problem is that all religion is lack of practical, the method, how to start and so on. that is why Buddhism is very int resting religion. its just teaches the method for to get out from all our problems. step 1, step 2 like that. and its really practical and reasonable. that is why the more you practice Buddhism the more experience you become and you know how to react when the things go badly wrong, from depression, loneliness, emotional problems and so on. Buddhism really have all the solution for all this problem

you better make a research on Tibetan society - contrasting before and after the Chinese invasion. likewise there are different societies before and after the introduction to Buddhism.

honestly I cannot say the impacts - I have to make the research too.

Basically, in Buddhism, following alone is nothing. A Buddhist is supposed to live with the basic five precepts (no killing, no stealing, no lying to, no sexual misconduct, and no intoxication) and do some meditation occasionally in their different traditions. The five precepts are the formula for peaceful society and meditation is for the peaceful mind. In peace, one can be prosperous in both material and spiritual development.

Buddhism is more concerned to individuals than as a whole society - as not everyone (nowadays the majority) can keep the five basic moral precepts. As people just can't do the basic, then we cannot expect them to do higher precepts. So Buddhism has become more individualism.
