If you can locate one, I'd take a comparative religions class, so that you'll have at least a basic understanding of each of the faiths and their origins. If that's not possible... I dunno - flip a coin or roll a die??? :-)

Take a history class.

I forgot who said it, but it went like this: "Those who don't know the past are doomed to repeat it."

I personally think Islam is SO interesting. Especially since the western world has a lot of animosity toward the middle east (especially America), so i vote for the Islam Class!

However, I grew up in a Hindu household, so I already understand Hinduism and parts of Buddhism.

Islam, as that is in the news a lot, and you will have a better perspective of that religion.

I think that any of these classes will help you appreciate other cultures and that is really the importance of these courses. If there is one you are particularly interested in, I'd take that class. I found Islam and Buddhism interesting in their own right. History is broad. Is there a particular history you are interested in?

The history of Hinduism is a lot of fun. I always recommend it to my students. It is our oldest documented religion and it has morphed and changed so dramatically. It has beautiful folklore as well. You will have fun learning about all the Gods (or God that changes into many Gods) and what they do for humankind.

I hope that helps.

Buddhism is a part of Hinduism as it evolved from Hindu. Islam is a Christian evolved religion, and the only reason I would say to take Islam is because it is better for religious tolerances at this current time in this country and if you are Christian, it is nice to get a perspective of the Muslim people and their faith.

Just study Islam.
You don't know much about Islam, do you? Hearing Islam from the anti-Islam people is not a good thing to do.

You could learn how to worship One Almighty God who create the universe: Allah

You could learn the real story of Muhammad as Allah's messenger who is chosen as the Number 1 man by Michael H Hart in his book "The 100"
You could read the most beautiful holy book, Al Qur'an (The Quran) which is read by billion people in the world and MEMORIZED (yes MEMORIZED) by millions of people.

Just learn Islam, and you will know a lot maybe it can take you to the happiness in the world and in heaven.

I think comparative religion would be good as it may help to clear up some misunderstandings about different religions.History can be interesting but I have felt it is often distorted. It often is based on the views of one particular group of people.Just read the history of the 2ND world war.It is not always easy to find out about the atrocities committed by the allies, but most of the history we are taught in the west comes from an allied point of view.

Do whichever you know least about or are most interested in. (=

Given the recent inaccurate media portrayals of Islam in many Western countries, you might want to take Islam. I took an Islamic Studies class and it was one of the most awesome things I've ever done EVER.

But then again, there are lots of misconceptions about Buddhism too.

And history is fun.

I suppose you could just see which class has the hottest teacher/best excursions/cheapest textbooks/cushiest assessment/best timetable...and roll with that.
