Default If Christianity is about following Jesus Christ, who are you going to goad into cruci

Hi Blingme, I'm not superstitious, I don't believe in luck, so thanks... but no thanks!
Hi keystroke, to goad means to provoke...
sh arid64, you shouldn't be so presumptuous, I was brought up a christian and I dare say I know at least as much as you do about the subject.
Blingme, I got your meaning first time round.

Following Christ does not mean getting yourself crucified. It's about following his commandments and teachings Ange living a life of service to God...

Crucifixion seems out of fashion lately.

You don't have to goad anyone into it. There's plenty of people that will do it without any "goading."

I plan on training a rabbit!

Seriously though Jesus suffered that horrible death so nobody else would have to. He died so we would not have to follow numerous laws to go to heaven but could reach heaven through the grace of God.

What is goad?

Scripture does tell us Christians to take up our cross and follow Jesus.
Meaning, following Christ is not a yellow brick road.

I am just a foreigner in a strange land, and trust me, this land is seeming stranger and stranger everyday.

You don't have to be up on a cross to be crucified.

As a christian - if you really believe and practice what you preach - you have to do what Jesus did - which as to serve and love people. And yes, if you preach, and practice what you preach, people will "crucify" you with words and acts of intolerance and cruelty.

In the West, Christians have it too comfortable. Just look at the Christians in Asia. They are still being hunted and killed for their belief and acts. They do nothing wrong, only pray and do good deeds for people.
They know the true meaning of following Christ, and not being afraid to risk and lose.

I think you just crucified yourself with that question.

Christianity is about following Jesus--you're right
The Crucifixion was an idea from the Romans to punish Jesus. Remember Romans were not Christians, but pagans at that time---so we don't follow Roman Rule, we accept that they tortured him for our sins.

Good Luck...*!*...you need it. <---PURE SARCASM apparently that also went over your head.

If you knew anything about Christ and the Passion, or even Christianity, you would not ask such a question. As a born again person you are instructed, by the bible, to daily pick up the cross, the responsibility to live in a moral manner, in an immoral and sometimes amoral world, and continue to let people like you, criticize us for our determination to try and be sanctified to Him.

I see no reason to condemn a person for the view of being moral, and loving your neighbor above yourself, thus loving the Lord Almighty. Unless you have another opposing view of how to live your life, meaning you have no one to answer to and can live according to whatever you feel like doing, to which I would probably not want to admit. Thank God, I a Christian already, I am glad I do not have to go back there again.
