Just want to know, would like sources for EVERYTHING though.
Please dint try to tell me how Mormonism is a Christian religion, there are enough contradictions between the Bible and the Book of Mormon to disprove that. I just want to know what the differences are.
Mormons are sexist bigots ..no respect for monogamy and they think native Americans and blacks are punished with their color for sins...freak in idiots
The Book of Moron is claimed to be a companion book to the Bible, there is no such book as a companion to the Bible. ANY one who claims such a thing is a liar and ALL liars go to Hell.
WE believe that Jesus is the Christ the very Son of God, who died for our sins. We also believe after the resurrection Christ visited people in the America's.
We also believe that Modern Christianity is fallen from the original Christianity through apostasy. The need of having it restored the gospel to it's fullness was prophesied in the Holy Bible. Joseph Smith fulfilled several prophecies. He is God's Prophet of the Restoration and is as much a prophet as Moses and Elijah.

another major difference between Mormonism and Christianity is the trinity. In most forms of Christianity we see the 3 in 1, 3 beings that are 1.
In Mormonism we find 3 separate beings that work as one, but are not one. Thus for Mormons God is a job title of 3 beings working together. (told to me by a Mormon, sorr no reference)
Mormonism also has free mason and Kabbalah elemnts, J Smith was a mason.
Mormonism is interesting but isnt exoteric christianity.
Actually there are many people of different ethic backgrounds in the Mormon Church, and although they had practiced polygamy in the past, they no longer do. In all honesty isn't a Christian someone who believes Jesus was Christ and Savior of the Jewish faith? Mormon believe this also, hence the name The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The main difference is they also believe in the lost years of Jesus, he came to America to teach the natives of Christianity and from that a new testament of Christ was born. The confusing thing is, Mormons are not considered Protestant, so they are deemed unchristian by other faiths. The truth is Mormons claim to be Christan, so you can choose to believe them or believe other faith which persecute them. My father's side of my family is of the Mormon faith, but I do not practice, in fact I do not have any faith, so please consider my opinion impartial.
Mormonism is a Christian religion. I know you don't want to be told that as you made it clear in your question that you only wanted answers that agreed with your opinion. Crow, you obviously don't know anything about Mormons so why did you answer the question? Mormons are not sexist bigots, it's easy to insult another religion without backing up your wild statements with any facts. We do not believe that native Americans and blacks have dark skin because they are being punished by God. Your entire argument of what makes Mormonism different from Christianity is filled entirely with false statements. Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God which is the same thing the bible teaches. BBB2165, where in the bible does it say that there is no companion to the bible. Mamma MIA, Mormons do believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. I am sure that you are misrepresenting what the Mormon you talked to was saying. It's interesting that so many people find it necessary to misrepresent Mormon beliefs to support their argument that Mormons are not Christians.
We believe that only through the atonement of Jesus Christ can we return to live with God again. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Saviour of the world. Jesus Christ paid for all of our sins and provided a path to return to live with God again. The name of the church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mormons are Christians.

The LDS church claims that Jesus suffered for our sins mainly in Gethsemane, thus minimizing the importance of the cross

While Christians view the Bible as the final authority on doctrinal matters, the LDS Church holds that their other books of scripture and their prophets are more reliable than the Bible.

Often Mormons will say that they believe in the same Jesus as standard Christianity. However, their leaders? definition is very different.

Mormonism teaches that Jesus, Lucifer and all mortals on this earth were originally born as spirit children to God the Father and his wife in a Prue-mortal life. Angels, devils, mortals and gods are regarded as the same species but in different stages of advancement or judgment. The two oldest sons were Jesus and Lucifer. Lucifer convinced one-third of his brothers and sisters to join him in rebellion and were expelled from Heaven. None of this s Biblical or Christian.

One of the most important tenets of the LDS Church is the necessity of temple ordinances. The LDS temple endowments and other rites are not based on biblical teaching. The temple in the Old Testament, with its High Priest and animal sacrifices, was a foreshadowing of Christ's role as both our final High Priest and last blood offering for sin (Hebrews, chapters 5-9). When Christ died on the cross the veil of the temple was torn in half (Luke 23:45) thus signifying that the Old Testament temple ritual had been replaced by the atonement of Christ.

The LDS church believes in eternal marriages (family's are forever) they perform secret marriages and baptisms for the dead in their temples. There is nothing in the New Testament about "eternal marriages" and secret rituals in a Christian temple. The Jewish temple ceremonies had no baptisms or marriages and are clearly explained in the Old Testament (Exodus, chapters 26-30). The only eternal marriage in the Bible is the spiritual marriage of the believer to Christ.

well it seems you already have your answer in your mind so why ask? But I will answer for those who may come upon this question, first the church of Jesus Christ Of Latterday Saints/ Mormons take the bible literally, we do not believe in the Trinity as does "mainstream Christianity" Critics often concoct special definitions of the term "Christian" to exclude those with whom they disagree. This is especially true of anti-Mormons, who delight in propagating the "myth" that Latter-day Saints ("Mormons") aren't Christian.I have been taught, and have personally chosen, to accept Christ as my Savior. I am taught to follow Him and feast on His word. I have no qualms in insisting that real Mormons are Christians. We worship Christ and covenant to follow Him. We are baptized in His name to follow Him, we partake of the sacrament (the holy communion) weekly to remember the sacrifice of His blood and to remember His victory over death, we pray to the Father in His name, and we strive to obey Him, knowing that it is only through His merits and grace that we are saved. He is constantly held up in our meetings as our Savior, our Redeemer, our Lord, and the author of our faith and our salvation. We believe that He stands at the head of His living Church, leading it as in days of old through revelation to His prophets and apostles. We are Christian because we look to Christ for salvation and worship Him and the Father. We are not saved by our works, but through the grace of Christ We believe in God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost as the members of the Godhead, being one in purpose, heart, and intent.we do differ from many churches in our theology. Although I may disagree with the theology of some other Christians, that gives me no right to say that they are not Christians because they don't see things the way I do. If someone looks to Christ for salvation and seeks to follow Him, in my mind, that's enough to qualify as being a Christian, regardless of other theological differences. Now let's examine the two primary charges. We are said to be unchristian because 1) we allegedly think we must keep the commandments to be saved and 2) we do not accept the standard doctrine of the Trinity.
