Almost 500 years old. It started since the Protestant Reformation and Martin Luther.

It started on the Day of Pentecost when the believers were baptized in the Holy Ghost. Pentecostals are Protestants, you know. The problem is that through the ages, many "main-line" churches started up which rejected the Baptism of the Holy Ghost which is scriptural. No where does it say, this power and gifts are only for the early church. It was the phony Christians who started the churches that rejected the Full Gospel so many of the people in those churches are not saved now. They treat the church like a social club quite often and they are now becoming worldly by accepting gay leadership, etc.
