There are the Muslim extremest who believe that the only way for them to get into their heaven is to commit jihad *holy war*. And while with the comparison around Christians murdering and bombing... have you heard the stories of Christians bombing abortion clinics and murdering the doctors that work at them? there are extremest wherever you go, but you can't blame a whole group of people for it...

The Davinci Code is fiction, the guy who wrote it even said that. Even though I don't agree with it,(I am a Christian) I wouldn't bomb it or anything. But there have been people claiming to be Christians and bombing abortion clinics. I don't agree with abortions and am pro-choice all the way but we shouldn't kill because some people have a different opinion. The best thing to do is pray for them, and be a witness.
I read the book and loved it. I haven't seen the movie yet, but if it's anything like the book, IT'S FICTION!!! Yes, it raises questions, but it is a novel, so don't say that the movie PROVES anything.
Having said that, if the movie follows the book, it was the Christians that slaughtered pagans and it was Christians that murdered the leaders of the priory of Dion to cover up the truth about Jesus.

Christianity has "grown up" into a religion of tolerance for most of it's followers - not all. However, even those intolerant of other religions are simply vocal about it - as you point out, they don't burn, bomb, or otherwise behave like yokels.
Most Muslims seem to secretly (or some openly) enjoy their intolerant fringe element. At the very least, they are not willing to speak out against them.
I'd say Islam needs to mature. It's not much different in age than Christianity, but seems to have stalled out in "mid-teen" somehow rather than growing up.
i am christian but i believe there should be fairness in this argument. Remember who started the crusades to win a city. Also there were two crusades where the Christians sent armies of children. in one of these half the kids died on the way to the battle and the other half were sold into slavery
Christianity vs Islam, first you have to look past the people who call themselves Christians and the people who call themselves Muslims. Go back and look at the teachings of Jesus and Mohammad. Jesus taught love, peace, and laying ones life down, Mohammad taught hatred and violence. The religions are almost total opposites. Why is there no outcry from the Muslim community over suicide bombers or 9/11? Its simple, the Bin Ladins of the world are the ones who are faithfully doing what the Quaran says to do. The peaceful muslin know this and remain silent.
