How is Christianity monotheistic if it worships 3 (God, the son of God, and the Holy
I'd like more detail than "They're manifestations of one".
What proof is there that they are one and not 3 separate entities?
Florida Man talked about all the roles a person plays in a day. If we as humans are capable of all that as ONE being, why do people divide God into three beings and make it seem like His abilities are limited as ONE Supreme Being? Shouldn't there be no limitations, no restrictions, when it comes to the Almighty?
Also, Mommy2 said heat, light and smoke together are fire, but it's the fire that creates heat, light, and smoke. Heat, light and smoke does not make fire, as a matter of fact heat, light and smoke put together doesn't really make anything...so how does father, son and ghost make God? I guess that just wasn't a good analogy.
Christians don't worship 3 separate gods, they worship 1 god, three persons. It's hard to explain in a limited forum such as this;
Think of a fire: Heat, light and smoke. The three together make a fire. The heat, by itself, is not fire, nor is the light or the smoke, by itself fire. But together they are fire. The same with the Trinity- Father, Son, and Holy Ghost TOGETHER make God.

Certain groups identifying themselves as Christians are monotheistic while others are Trinitarians. According to the American Heritage Dictionary, monotheism is the doctrine or belief that there is only one God. The Dogma of the Trinity on the other hand states that there are three distinct people, which compose the Godhead. Even the Catholic Church recognizes though that there is no single term in Scripture that denotes the Three Divine Persons together. The word Tris was first used by Theophilus of Antioch around 180 C.E. It does not appear in a creed until 260 or 270 C.E., written by Gregory Thaumaturgus.
Unfortunately, you will not find one correct answer. You will always encounter people who will give you a subjective perspective on a questionable topic debated for hundreds of years. If you are seeking truth, you will find it once you collect sufficient information to decide on your own. Good journey.
Not sure. However, I dint think its appropriate to compare what humans are to what the Trinity is. If Trinity is true that Jesus is God, and Son of God and holy Spirit, than comparing that to what humans are like mother and sister kind of degrades the status of Jesus. I think there should be a more better explanation not comparing God to humans since he is the ALmighty.
