Yes Christianity began as sect of Judaism but by the time they separated themselves from Jews and this should be credited to St. Paul who gave the current doctrine of Christianity. "Just have faith and no law"

NO TODAY CHRISITANS CAN NOT BE CALLED Jews.

Jesus Christ was a Jew. But Jews do not believe Christ is God or the son of God therefore no Christians are not Jews, we were not born into a Jewish family we are "Goy: Hebrew word for nation or people; Yiddish word for non-Jew that is sometimes used pejoratively."

Ask you pastor for a better explanation.

The way it was explained to me once was that Jews were already saved because they were God's chosen people, but Jesus came to save the rest of us who weren't Jewish.
Christianity began because of Jesus, who was a Jew. However he didn't live the life a normal Jewish man would, and he set the guidelines for the religion that many millions around the world follow today. It is a separate religion with many separate beliefs, but the same God.

I think you have to go deeper with your question.

Was Jesus Christian?
if the word Christ (Ian) was not attributed to him
to much later.

But I believe the word Israel has been around for a long, long time.

Perhaps the questions should be:

Are Christians (as thought of today) also the Children of Israel.

Also considering that "Christians" believe in basically all the "Jewish" prophets. And Muslims - also be live in all of the "Christian" prophets (from Abraham to Jesus as prophets) - we should be talking about specific beliefs and not general labeling or grouping and divisiveness.

Best and Peace in the middle east,

No. You have to be born a Jew as well as be circumcised on the eighth day. If Christian say they are spiritual Israel, look them in the eye and ask what tribe are they from.

Paul said that a real Jew is one who is a Jew inwardly and not one who is one outwardly (IE circumcision).

The upshot is that the Messianic believers were Torah-observant Jews -- but the Jewish leadership rejected Jesus Messiahship & kicked the ~cult~ out Judaism. They were on their own for the 1st few centuries, but in the 4Th century Emperor Constantine co-opted the Christian religion, made it a state religion, decreed that the Sabbath must be desecrated and everyone in his empire had to worship on Sunday, "the venerable day of the sun god." The Pope went along with Constantine, claiming the divine power to change God's law. Constantine & Pope Sylvester also eliminated the Jewishness of the faith by replacing the Feasts of the Lord with pagan-based holidays (Christmas for the winter solstice & Easter in conjunction with the vernal equinox). The ancient church councils of Constantine prohibited any representation/participation by the Jewish Messianic leadership. The result is current Christianity is very Judophobic.

The unchanging (& perfect) God gave the perfect (& unchanging) Law, the Torah - those who read it know that God abhors all pagan abominations. The REASON Christians continue observing Constantine & the popes practices is that they FOLLOW THE TRADITIONS OF MEN. The EXCUSES all the Christian denominations make for continuing the pagan practices are LIES, misinterpretations of Scripture. Only Satan can make HERESIES sound so believable.

The end times started in the 1st century when the faithful were attacked by those who perverted the faith for their own personal gain. The Bible warns that there will be a great deception of believers who are not diligently faithful. The Great Deceiver is so good, the victims do not even know they are duped in his sting.

There is a remnant of believers who are faithful. You may find some in successful congregations/denominations - missionaries attempting to being the Light to them - but for the most part a successful church is a worldly standard... & is an indicator that mainstream churches are influenced by [worldly] men, not the Spirit.

Note that "salvation is of the Jews." All of the Covenants God made, He made with Israelites. Gentiles who wish to be saved must be as a wild olive tree branch grafted into the root of Israel. Judeophobia is heresy! Embrace the Jewishness of the Messiah.

True Christianity displays much of the same tenants as the old Law given to Moses. However, it is open to all people, rather than to just one nationality.

Go back to the Old Testament. The nation of Israel was chosen to fulfill God's purpose to bring the Messiah. They were so chose because of Abraham's faithfulness to God (The Israelites were the decedents of Abraham). The Messiah was born as a Jew, fulfilled the law and made it outdated. When he was killed God's exclusive relationship with the Jews was ended because they did not, for the most part, accept the Messiah sent to them. Jesus instituted a New Faith, later called Christianity. Though is springs from the Jewish faith, it relies on a good conscience rather than written laws.

26and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.

no, all Christians do not have Jewish roots. the christian faith does. Jesus was born Jewish and raised Jewish and had followers from the Jewish faith. basically, Christians have converts from the beginning and some were Jewish and some were pagan and there are and where others.
