Since Paul preached Christianity to Gentiles, wrote most of the New Testament, received a "revelation" from God about Christianity, is his words or Jesus' words followed in the practice of Christianity?
So if the followers of Jesus (pub) considered God to be their "Father," then how did they regard Jesus? To answer this let us read together:
"And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet." Matthew 14:5 (compare with Matthew 21:26)
"And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee." Matthew 21:11
"But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet." Matthew 21:46
"And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:" Luke 24:19
"The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet." John 4:19
"Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world." John 6:14
"Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet." John 7:40
"And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people." Luke 7:16
"They say unto the blind man again, What say est thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet." John 9:17
Indeed, how did Jesus himself describe himself? Let us read: "Nevertheless I (Jesus) must walk to day, and to morrow, and the [day] following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem." Luke 13:33
And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without hon our, save in his own country, and in his own house. Matthew 13:57, Mark 6:4, Luke 4:24, John 4:43
This is once again confirmed in the noble Qur'an: "And when Jesus son of Mary said: O Children of Israel! Verily! I am the messenger of Allah unto you, confirming that which was [revealed] before me in the Torah" The noble Qur'an, Al-Saf(61):6
Christianity, In Christ. Nowhere does it say in Paul. Jesus himself didn't write any of the bible, so who actually writes it has no bearing, it's who it's about that's important, and it wasn't written about Paul.
Paul is a book in the new testament in the bible. Although Christians read and learn the Word in this book, there are several other "books of the apostles" including Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. However, Jesus Christ is considered the Messiah in Christianity.
I don't have an answer for you, but I am glad you asked this sort of question, I think questions like this really stimulate Christians into a curiosity in their own religion.
Jesus, who is God manifest in the flesh. They are one in the same. Paul is definitely not the Messiah. You can read for yourselves that Jesus came to seek and save the lost, therefore making Jesus the Messiah.
Jesus is the Messiah; born of a virgin and without sin.
Paul was called of God to preach the message of the Gospel.
Paul was a man, born of a man and woman an born into sin.
Paul himself said that he was the worst of sinners, because he persecuted the Christians before he was converted.
the thing is that the apostle Paul was given these type of privileges, that doesn't make him better or bigger than Jesus, but it only proves that he had Gods' approval on him. and that he was chosen to preach to others from other parts of the world, because before he was a christian, he was a killer of Christians...
Jesus is the Messiah. All scripture is "God Breathed" or "Inspired by God," so even though Paul played a crucial role in scripture recording, all of the Bible is the word of God. Jesus is part of the trinity.
There is no mistake that Christianity, as we know it, is a Pauline creation. Even the gospels, of which many parts disagree with Paul, were written after he had preached and died and reflect his theology (although many aspects of the older Jewish Christianity bleed through, particular in James).
Thomas Jefferson once redid the bible, removing all of Paul's writings. Although Paul never met Jesus, nor claimed to know any more about him than his name, it is unfortunate that all we know of Jesus is through the lens of Paul's theology.
And central to the entire religion is the claim that Jesus appeared to Paul in a dream. One person claimed a dream, and billions now follow his teachings...rather amazing.
Particularly given the fact that the versions of his conversions are highly contradictory (one account says they saw a light but heard nothing, another says they heard a sound but saw nothing/ one account says Jesus told him there he was an apostle, another account says Ananias had to tell him later what Jesus said).
It's rather amazing that Christians place their entire religion on the word of guy who admitted he killed Christians because he said he had a dream. Wow.
