Default Deep down, do most Christians know that Christianity is hootenanny?

Jesus told people to turn the other cheek, and give someone your cloak even after taking your coat, but a Chrstian would never do this in real life. They'd fight back and if someone tried to take their coat they'd call the police. Christianity is an unworkable system in real life, so isn't it time we just gave it up.

you don't need permission to do that. you can do it on your own and by yourself.

Jesus knew that "Christianity is an unworkable system in real life". And also Paul;

We as humans cannot carry out Gods commandments to a literal perfection. But God knows the heart.
Paul, who was given the Gospel of Christ by direct revelation, not hearing it or learning it but given it by Jesus. He himself said that he cannot do what he desires and cannot keep from doing the evil he hates;

Romans 7
21 So I (Paul) find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22For in my inner being I delight in God's law; 23but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. 24What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25Thanks be to God?through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Christians hardly ever follow ANYTHING Jesus actually preached. For instance, my favorite Biblical story was how Jesus stopped this crowd of people from stoning to death this woman, because he said that those without sin should cast the first stone. Yet Christians have no problem casting metaphorical stones and judging people and making their lives miserable when they themselves are not perfect. Not to mention when Jesus freaked out in the temple where they were selling things saying how they shouldn't sell things in a temple. Yet the largest Church in NA had a gift shop in it! LOL!

So yes, they know it isn't true. But they have to keep lying to themselves to believe it.

You misunderstand. Yes Jesus told us to do that, that is how someone lives a perfect life. That is how every believer in God is supposed to at least try to act. He knew these things would be difficult for people to do, and that is why in doing them you are pleasing God. Just because some people can't follow the rules, doesn't mean that set of rules doesn't exist!

I think most of them actually believe it. At least, those parts they choose to believe. None of them accept every single word. (Show me a Christian who still strives to obey all the Noahide laws [the ones binding on all non-Jews]. Or who accept the priesthood of the Jewish people as the guardians and teachers of Torah [which is required of all non-Jews]).

they refuse to believe that their religion is BS because they believe that is the only what you will get to heaven is to become a Christian
