Jesus' existence is dubious at best. The only record of his supposed "existence" comes from the gospels(there are more than four you know, and many have conflicting accounting's) which were conveniently written many many years after his life was supposed to have ended. Prolific Jewish historians from the time make absolutely no mention of a "Jesus of Nazareth" and Paul, in his travels, makes no mention of Jesus' actual life.
The majority of these ideas can be understood best with the viewpoint that Jesus was most likely an allegory of "perfect morality" meant to have fulfilled all the old prophecies ( he didn't by the way). His life was constructed around prevailing mythologies taken from Zoroastrianism, Roman Paganism, and other religions at the time. It was a political tool used to create followers against Roman oppression, but was instead adopted into a Catholic Church, due in part to the auspicious timing of these teachings with the decline of the Roman Empire and the desperate need for solidarity.
